Additionally, I have acquired many real-world organizational skills whilst pursuing my undergrad degree in business management & marketing, and an MBA program in the future, which will help me provide a pragmatic approach to learning & educating towards students. This background also helps in my specialized field of teaching qualitative, analytical & subjective courses such as English, marketing, and essay & creative writing. Outside of academia, I enjoy hobbies such as martial arts, fitness, cooking & music composition. I find these help build my positive, tenacious & forward-thinking mindset which I hope to impart on my students. I am a Math and English tutor. Why English? I love to read and am a stickler for grammar. I have a vast vocabulary because of my love for reading and can always think of different ways to say the same thing in essays, papers, etc. Why Math? I like it, I'm good at it and I've noticed that a lot of kids hate it because they aren't good at it or the opposite-they aren't good at it because they hate it. I am here to try to bridge the disconnect between students and their Math skill set and get them to see that they can overcome that obstacle. I love learning from the students I tutor. I love seeing them grow and outgrow me.

I got introduced to teaching when I was in my teens by working with my siblings, cousins, neighbors etc. It soon became a regular practice to sit with my younger sibling to check his homework assignments and prepare him for his examinations.When in college, teaching became my profession. I started to teach kids from K-10. It soon gave me purpose to continue my journey of gaining knowledge. I taught middle school subjects like mathematics and science including physics, chemistry and biology while I myself was studying economics, mathematics and statistics.I have also been a teacher in preschool for more than a year which has led me to understand the importance of child psychology and the relevance of mode of teaching.I feel that I had a nag of teaching which got developed into passion. I am always eager to help someone understand a concept, clear their doubts, and give them a guide and pathway towards learning.

I am a graduate from Suffolk University with a BS in Computer Science. I am currently beginning a career in software design with a focus on mobile applications. My main passions are Mathematics and Computer Science, although I have a strong academic background in several areas including English and the physical sciences. I have been tutoring since high school and have experience working with all ages in a number of subjects. I have the most experience working with high school and middle school students in mathematics. My other teaching experiences include tutoring in English and computer skills in an ESOL classroom for refugees, as well as private and group violin instruction for children of all ages.I believe that Math comprehension is absolutely essential to a successful education. As a tutor I focus on presenting material in a number of ways to accommodate all learning styles and making material relevant to the student. Helping students overcome the anxieties that so often accompany learning Math at the earliest and most crucial stages means helping students think about the material in a way that is meaningful to them and teaching them to relate Math to their own lives and interests in a way that fosters a passion that lasts far beyond the day of the big test and hopefully for a lifetime.Although my main focuses are standardized test preparation and Mathematics, I also tutor Chemistry, Physics, Reading Comprehension, Essay Writing, Grammar and a number of other subjects. I am currently a PhD graduate student studying Microbiology at Arizona State University. Prior to moving to Arizona, I completed my B.S. in Biochemistry at Suffolk University in Boston, MA. As an undergraduate, I initiated a study group for students interested in group tutoring in Biochemistry. Additionally, I served as a teaching assistant for biology, advanced biology, and chemistry high school students in the Boston area. I graduated from Suffolk University summa cum laude with honors and a presidential scholarship. I attained a BA in Philosophy and English. The scholarship awarded me the chance to teach English, critical writing, and several workshops to hundreds of students every semester for my final three years at the university. I am currently a widely published writer and a graduate student at the number one low-residency MFA program in the country, Vermont College of Fine Arts. I study poetry and translation (Spanish, Russian, and German). The translation component requires me to translate poems from their native language into English. The MFA itself is a rigorous program that focuses on intense reading and writing. The MFA degree is the terminal degree for the fine arts field. I am also a Professor of Literature at Changing Lives Through Literature, an alternative probation program at the University of Massachusetts, Boston. I am also a copyeditor for The Tishman Review and a manuscript reader for Hunger Mountain. Throughout my poetry career, I have worked closely with several nationally recognized poets, most notably the National Book Award recipient David Ferry. I was awarded the 2014 Robert K. I am a graduate of Suffolk University, located in Boston, MA. I received both of my bachelor and master degree at Suffolk University, majoring in Accounting. I've tutored students during my time as a graduate student, and have tutored elementary and high school students during my junior and senior year of high school. While I have basic high school level on a variety of subjects, I am most passionate about tutoring all math subjects, excluding (pre) calculus and college-level statistics, and accounting-related courses.
