I graduated with a Bachelors degree in Applied Physics from Emory University before receiving my Masters in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech. During my time at Georgia Tech I was able to serve as a graduate teaching assistant, holding office hours, assisting students with assignments, and even preparing and teaching a handful of classes. As an engineer I've always enjoyed math and science, but understanding their applications is truly what has inspired me. My goal in tutoring is to uncover the power of math and physics to my students. I also understand the balance between school and fun. A student athlete my whole life, I know that studying smarter rather than longer is one of the keys to academic success.

I believe that everyone learns in a slightly different way. As a tutor it is crucial for me to identify the way in which my students learn best and instruct them in a way that is complimentary to their primary instruction. I have a diverse educational background and am currently completing my JD/MBA. Prior to coming to Emory for Grad School, I graduated in 3 years from the University of Central Florida. While I enjoy learning now, that wasn't always the case and I am very sympathetic to students who find some subjects to be particularly taxing. I understand what it feels like to be frustrated and feel like you will never master a topic or subject. Whether you need help with Middle or High School classes, or are preparing to take the SAT, ACT, LSAT or GMAT, I would love to help you or your student achieve your academic goals.

My teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that every student has the potential to succeed when given encouragement, structure, and meaningful instruction. With sixteen years of experience teaching social studies, I have learned that education is most powerful when students see how it connects to their own lives. Social studies is not simply about memorizing dates, names, and events; it is about applying them to daily living to become a good citizen and lifelong learner.

I am currently a senior at Emory University studying chemistry and applied math with a focus on inorganic chemistry. I will be available to tutor algebra, trigonometry, algebra 2, biology, chemistry, calculus, geometry, pre- calculus, and ACT prep. I started tutoring in high school and continued tutoring at Emory where I tutored general chemistry, introductory biology, and calculus for two years. Apart from academic tutoring, I am also involved in Project SHINE which teaches English to recent Atlanta immigrants. I believe that education (no matter what kind) is crucial in life, but I also strive to emphasize why something is important. In my experience, most students struggle with something because they don't understand exactly why it is important or simply do not care. I am heavily involved in academic research at Emory so I am able to help a student understand exactly why a specific subject area is important and how it is continuously applied both in the lab and in the real world to improve our lives. It's always easier to see the physical and practical applications of a subject than try to visualize its importance on paper. In my spare time I enjoy chemistry, ancient Roman history, jam bands, running, cycling, and scuba diving.

I am a rising senior at Emory University majoring in Biology, B.S. on a pre-med track in the Biology Honors Program. In my sophomore year, I was a math and literacy tutor at Emory Reads where I worked with students at Ivy Prep Academy, Atlanta GA. Now, I lead review sessions for my fellow classmates in organic chemistry and biology to prepare for upcoming exams. In my past tutoring experiences and review sessions, I always used different colors and incorporated diagrams to improve conceptual understanding because I firmly believe every problem can be solved; if we have a solid foundation and truly understand a concept, we can apply it to any given scenario and figure out the solution. In order to make sure of this, I always encourage students to ask questions until all doubts have been cleared before moving on to decrease gaps in understanding. I can help with math, english, biology, chemistry, and physics although I think my favorite subjects to tutor would have to be Organic Chemistry and Human Physiology! I sincerely enjoy teaching these subjects and hope to show the students just how fascinating they can really be.

As a student, I excel in both high school and college, getting As and A*s in all math and sciences courses. I am not merely a good test taker, but also a thinker on these matters. I have experiences in competitions in math and physics and won several awards. I have read books such as "A Brief History of Time" and other books outside the school curricula. I think that fundamental physics is especially interesting, because it is very pronounced in everyday setting. In order to learn what the frontier physics looks like, I joined a physics lab in my college to do research with a professor in January 2021, and continues uninterrupted to this day.As a tutor, I have previous experience in teaching mathematics to secondary school students, focusing on algebra and geometry. I used to teach on Chegg Tutors for college level physics and mathematics. Now, I am an active tutor in an education institute and teach high school students for standardized tests and high school math and physics curricula. I usually offer one-to-one tutoring in order to tailor the best experience for the student and will adjust the content and style of teaching based on student request. I understands where students typically struggle at very well, and so directly gets to their needs. Therefore, I have received many positive feedbacks from both Chegg and returning students when I taught secondary school math.

Hello! I'm a second-year medical student in Georgia, and I've been fortunate to tutor students at many stages - elementary, middle, high school, college, SAT/ACT prep, MCAT prep, and even graduate levels. I've also mentored EMT-B students, where I taught hands-on clinical skills. Having been through the challenge of not always "getting it right away" myself, I really relate to the struggle of learning tough material. That's why my approach is all about breaking down complex topics into something simple and clear, while creating a space where students feel comfortable experimenting, asking questions, and figuring things out for themselves. I adapt to different learning styles and love finding the method that clicks best for each student. For me, tutoring isn't just about grades. It's about building confidence, curiosity, and the mindset that learning can be both challenging and fun. I'm excited to support students in reaching their goals and to share in the joy of their growth along the way!

My own teaching method is strongly informed by my personal experiences as a student. At the conclusion of Kindergarten, my teacher advised my parents that I was not going to be able to keep up with my classmates and needed to be held back for a year; they felt I was lacking focus and at risk of failing to develop in step with my peers. Despite my teacher's concerns, my parents decided to send me along to first grade and trust that any 'growing pains' would resolve themselves. Twelve years later, I graduated in the top 1% of my class after being selected for the Honors/AP track at my school, received four academic merit based full-tuition scholarships to top ranked universities, scored in the 99th percentile on various standardized exams, was one of only thirteen young women invited to join the Illinois' Allstate Academic Team, had preemptively completed some of my college course work through a scholarship at University of Cambridge (UK), and received membership invitations to a multitude of honors societies. My academic aptitude accelerated in college, and I graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Magna Cum Laude among other accomplishments.

I am currently a graduate student at the Rutgers Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences - New Brunswick/Piscataway campus. Although I am pursuing a medical career, I am a firm advocate of education. In terms of how my belief meshes with my interest in medicine, patient education should play a large part in patient care. Education leads a greater understanding of underlying health issues, causes, and risks which leads to a greater chance in patient compliance. However, before I even came to be where I am now, education has always been a priority for me. My parents are immigrants from a South Korea that was still developing. Thus, they work and struggle in the United States for the sake of their children's education though they themselves do not have more than a high school education - if even that. I was raised to pursue higher education, but once I graduated college and started working during my gap year, I truly came to realize the importance of education and appreciate the academic opportunities I have had thus far. Without education, without a solid foundation in the basics that are later built upon in college and university, there is no personal or societal progress.
