My own teaching method is strongly informed by my personal experiences as a student. At the conclusion of Kindergarten, my teacher advised my parents that I was not going to be able to keep up with my classmates and needed to be held back for a year; they felt I was lacking focus and at risk of failing to develop in step with my peers. Despite my teacher's concerns, my parents decided to send me along to first grade and trust that any 'growing pains' would resolve themselves. Twelve years later, I graduated in the top 1% of my class after being selected for the Honors/AP track at my school, received four academic merit based full-tuition scholarships to top ranked universities, scored in the 99th percentile on various standardized exams, was one of only thirteen young women invited to join the Illinois' Allstate Academic Team, had preemptively completed some of my college course work through a scholarship at University of Cambridge (UK), and received membership invitations to a multitude of honors societies. My academic aptitude accelerated in college, and I graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Magna Cum Laude among other accomplishments.

Hi there! My name is Khuyen and I am a pre-med post graduate from Emory University with a B.S. in Anthropology and Human Biology and a B.A. in Spanish. I was a Spanish tutor, clinical preceptor, and Mentorship Chair in college where I taught new students in many subjects and developed a passion for mentorship. As a current M.A candidate, I strongly believe in education empowerment and the gift of knowledge. I've been involved in the education in a myriad of ways: I've taught both in the States and abroad, tutored, trained teachers, taken academic courses, and worked with education policy.Half of learning is understanding the material, and the other half is understanding yourself and how you need to relate to the material. I am a graduate of Emory University and received a Bachelor of Science in both Biology and Anthropology. My collegiate coursework focused heavily on the biological sciences, including evolutionary Biology, Microbiology, Ecology, Biological Anthropology and Math. I have been passionate about science since I was a child and have always enjoyed sharing that passion with others. I'm a graduate of Duke University where I received a JD and an MA in History. I received my undergraduate degree from Emory University also in History. My legal experience includes working as a summer law clerk for two appellate judges and as a summer associate at a large law firm in New York City. I graduated with a Bachelors degree in Applied Physics from Emory University before receiving my Masters in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech. During my time at Georgia Tech I was able to serve as a graduate teaching assistant, holding office hours, assisting students with assignments, and even preparing and teaching a handful of classes. I am a recent MBA graduate and relocated to Atlanta from Los Angeles, CA.
