You can strengthen your preparations for the NCLEX-RN or NCLEX-PN by taking an informative and interactive St. Louis NCLEX course at Varsity Tutors. If you have been studying at the University of Missouri - St. Louis, Maryville University, or another area school, you probably have a good understanding of the nursing profession. With help from an NCLEX course, you can build on your existing nursing knowledge and also learn different study and test-taking strategies that could help you reach for success on your chosen NCLEX exam.
What topics are covered in a St. Louis NCLEX class?
The National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) exams are developed and administered by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc. (NCSBN) to measure candidates' entry-level nursing competence and grant licensure or registration. The NCLEX-RN is designed for aspiring Registered Nurses, and the NCLEX-PN designated for future Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurses. In the NCLEX class, your instructor can offer overviews of these exams to help you better understand their purpose and structure.
Aspiring nurses who plan to take the NCLEX-RN or NCLEX-PN can learn in the St. Louis NCLEX course about Client Needs, which both test plans use as their framework. Client Needs are divided into four categories and eight subcategories. The Safe and Effective Care Environment category consists of the Management of Care subcategory for the NCLEX-RN exam, Coordinated Care subcategory for the NCLEX-PN exam, and Safety and Infection Control subcategory for both exams. The Health Promotion and Maintenance and Psychosocial Integrity categories are covered on both exams. All of the Physiological Integrity category's subcategories - Basic Care and Comfort, Pharmacological Therapies, Reduction of Risk Potential, and Physiological Adaptation - are covered on both exams with the exception of the Parental Therapies subcategory, which is only covered on the NCLEX-RN exam. Your course instructor can help you get acquainted with fundamental processes in the nursing practice that have been included in the Client Needs categories and subcategories. These processes are Nursing Process, Caring, Communication and Documentation, Teaching/Learning, and Culture and Spirituality.
What are the benefits of taking a St. Louis NCLEX course?
The test format you will encounter when taking an NCLEX exam is unique and something the NCLEX class can help you better comprehend. Computerized Adaptive Testing (CAT) aims to get an estimate of each student's true ability level by re-estimating their ability based on answers to each question and the difficulty of previous questions. With CAT, the computer selects the next question based on a 50 percent chance that the student will answer it correctly. Students taking NCLEX exams will not all answer the same number of questions. Instead, the number of questions will be generated based on the previous question's answers. As a result, students taking the NCLEX-RN exam might answer between 75 and 265 questions, and NCLEX-PN examinees might answer 85 to 205 questions.
After answering a question in the CAT format, you can't return to that question. To help you adapt to the challenge of answering questions in this manner, your instructor can teach you strategies for analyzing each question with care before providing an answer. The maximum timeframes set for the exams, including the tutorial and breaks, are six hours for the NCLEX-RN and five hours for the NCLEX-PN. Question types can include multiple choice, multiple response, hot spots, and fill-in-the-blank calculation. The St. Louis NCLEX prep course can offer test-taking tips for managing the allotted time effectively and answering each type of question you could encounter.
This NCLEX class is presented in a virtual classroom that allows you to log on from any distraction-free setting with an internet connection. You can learn with other future NCLEX examinees through live video chats and an online whiteboard. Your instructor can help refresh your knowledge of physical, biological, and social sciences covered in the NCLEX exam test plans and help you get reacquainted with nursing clients' health needs so you can better understand how to address them on your test. Classroom discussions and small group interactions with classmates give you the chance to get help with areas of opportunity. If you need personal time with your instructor, you can request a one-on-one meeting.
How can I enroll in a St. Louis NCLEX class?
