To help you make the most of your Omaha LSAT prep, Varsity Tutors can match you to services that suit your needs. The LSAT is a key part of a law school application. If you are hoping to attend a local school like Creighton University School of Law, preparing effectively for the LSAT can make a difference for your academic future.
The LSAT takes two hours and 55 minutes to complete. You must complete two hours and 25 minutes of the exam on the day your exam is scheduled, but you complete the 35 minutes Writing section at any time within a year of the exam. The portions of the exam that you take on the test day are referred to as the Digital LSAT because they are taken on tablets that are provided on the day of the exam. The LSAT is accepted by all ABA-accredited schools.
What subjects can I review during Omaha LSAT prep?
There are three sections to the Digital LSAT, which are Reading Comprehension, Analytical Reasoning, and Logical Reasoning. To help you become more familiar with the content of the exam, we will review the required skills and knowledge for each section of the Digital LSAT. There is only one section of the Writing LSAT, and we will cover that too below.
The Reading Comprehension section of the LSAT presents you with long-form written pieces that you must read and analyze. You will need to identify the main idea of a piece, analyze the organization of the piece, and evaluate the author's tone to discuss their attitude in the subject. Your score on this section demonstrates your ability to apply written information to a new context, infer information, and understand analogies. You will have 35 minutes to complete this section.
In the Analytical Reasoning section, you must understand relationships and use that understanding to draw accurate conclusions. You will encounter questions that require a variety of analytical skills. In addition to understanding and identifying the relationships in a question, you must make inferences and use reason to make sense of conditional statements. You will have 35 minutes to complete this section as well.
The Logical Reasoning section measures your analytical, evaluation, and argumentative skills. You must interact with information from newspapers, magazines, scholarly publications, and other sources. In this section, you will need to recognize the components of an argument and the relationships between those parts. You need to be able to draw conclusions that are backed up by evidence, and you must be able to identify flaws in an argument. There are two portions of the section, and you will have 70 minutes to complete this section.
During the Writing portion of the LSAT, you will be given a prompt that requires you to pick a side in an argument. You will defend your choice in writing, paying attention to your organization, evidence, and clarity of writing. This section is not scored, and there is no "right" or "wrong" answer. Rather, any law school that you apply to will be able to see this section. Admissions officials will look at your writing to see how well you argue and write. You will have 35 minutes to complete this section via a secure online portal.
How can Omaha LSAT prep help me to prepare for the exam?
There are two main options for your Omaha LSAT preparation. You can attend an Omaha LSAT prep course which takes place in an online classroom. Or, you can study one-on-one with an Omaha LSAT tutor. You can choose the option that fits your situation and abilities.
In an Omaha LSAT prep class, you and your classmates can learn together in a live virtual classroom. This classroom allows for real-time interactions between you, your classmates, and the instructor. You can ask questions, listen to lectures, and participate in discussions about key content for the exam. Your instructor will be a skilled educator selected for their knowledge of the LSAT material and the clarity of their instruction. They can modify the class time to address particular areas of concern for the whole class. Likewise, you can meet with your instructor outside of class time if you feel that you need extra help. The opportunity to learn alongside other students can give you new perspectives on the material. Engaging with the viewpoints of other students can help you internalize the content you are learning.
There are new sessions of Omaha LSAT prep classes that start every week. Different sessions meet at different times, so you can choose a session that fits your schedule. Because all classes take place online, you are able to study from anywhere with an internet connection, and you don't have to worry about commuting. I tutor the LSAT because I know it's a hard test and I know what it's like to struggle with it. However I also understand the process necessary to produce better scores, and nothing is more satisfying to me than helping someone achieve what seemed impossible a few months ago.... Your score is a product of so many factors--your understanding of the material, your speed, even how accurately you bubble answers--but in the end it all comes down to whether you studied the test from every angle and put in the time necessary to get the results you want.
