The LSAT (Law School Admission Test) is a test that is used by many law schools as a portion of their admissions process. In fact, it is accepted by all ABA-accredited law schools. The test is designed to look at key skills that may be beneficial in law school. If you are interested in attending law school at an institution like the Creighton University School of Law, it will be beneficial to do well on the LSAT. As you begin to prepare for the test, if you feel like you could use some extra help with your preparation, don't hesitate to reach out to Varsity Tutors so that we can help you sign up for an Omaha LSAT class.
When you arrive at the LSAT testing center, you will receive a digital tablet. The three sections you'll take on the tablet are multiple choice. To indicate what answer option you would like to choose, you simply tap the answer option on the screen. Taking the test on a tablet provides several benefits over taking it on paper, such as the ability to easily mark down any questions you want to take a second look at if you wind up having time. Additionally, you will have access to a timer that gives you an idea as to how much time you have left in each section.
The one exception to taking the test on a tablet is the Writing section. This section is taken on a secure online platform and you'll have a year from the time you finish the multiple choice sections to complete your essay.
The LSAT is scored according to how many questions you get right, rather than which questions you get right. Furthermore, you won't receive any type of deduction for answering a question incorrectly, so you should feel free to guess if you aren't quite sure about the answer.
What areas can an Omaha LSAT class help me review?
The LSAT covers material from a wide variety of sources, and it can seem daunting at times when you start going through all of the subject material. Enrolling in an Omaha LSAT class can prove beneficial because an instructor can help narrow down the areas you need to study. It can be difficult to know exactly which topics you should focus on, but an Omaha LSAT class can help you get a better idea as to what material may show up on the test.
The LSAT has four sections, including Reading Comprehension, Analytical Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, and Writing. These sections examine skills that are often cited as indicators of success in law school.
The section concerning Reading Comprehension asks you to read through long, complex passages and answer questions that assess how well you understand the content. The passages on the exam resemble the kinds of reading you will likely be spending a lot of time working through once you're in law school.
The Reading Comprehension section consists of a wide range of questions that examine a variety of skills. Some of the questions in this section look at your ability to figure out the main idea or purpose within a passage, how well you can structure or organize information, and whether you can analyze what an author's attitudes are based on the tone they use.
Analytical Reasoning will look at being able to reach a conclusion based on a series of information. The questions in this section test for a wide range of skills, including whether you can infer what might be true based on the facts provided, if you can apply facts and rules to hypothetical situations, and whether you are able to recognize two different statements as being equivalent based on logic.
Logical Reasoning examines whether you are able to critically analyze and evaluate arguments. This is something you will likely be asked to do on a regular basis in law school. The arguments provided in this section can come from many different sources, such as advertisements, magazines, and newspapers, among others. This section examines whether you can identify flaws in arguments, if you can use evidence to explain how it affects an argument, and how well you recognize the relationships between arguments.
The Writing section is not graded, but it is still sent to all of the law schools you apply to. This section asks you to examine two options and make a decision on which position or course of action represents the best choice. Neither of the decisions are considered right or wrong, but you will need to present a logical argument for why you made a particular decision.
How can an Omaha LSAT course help me prepare?
There are many different ways in which an Omaha LSAT course can help you prepare for the test. One way a course can help you is by helping you review material you may not be familiar with. Furthermore, the course is designed to mimic a classroom setting, so you'll be working with an instructor and other students. The instructor can keep the course on track and provide study material. But it can also be beneficial to work in a group setting with other students. This allows for group discussions and various other activities. The LSAT requires you to use various forms of logic and reasoning, and working in a group setting with your peers can be beneficial because it offers a chance to examine alternative ways of thinking.
Omaha LSAT courses are available for you to take online. Thus, you don't have to worry about wasting time commuting to a particular location. You can take your course anywhere that you have a stable Internet connection. You can also sign up for either a two-week session or a four-week session depending on your needs.

...a merit-based full scholarship. I absolutely love to teach and have spent much of my time in college teaching in various settings. Before getting into my qualifications, though, I think it's important to note one thing about my teaching style. I was never someone who simply "got" things in class. I often struggled to understand relatively simple concepts, especially when compared to my classmates, whether that was in test-taking or in any academic subject. So,...

I tutor the LSAT because I know it's a hard test and I know what it's like to struggle with it. However I also understand the process necessary to produce better scores, and nothing is more satisfying to me than helping someone achieve what seemed impossible a few months ago.... Your score is a product of so many factors--your understanding of the material, your speed, even how accurately you bubble answers--but in the end it all comes down to whether you studied the test from every angle and put in the time necessary to get the results you want.
