If you're planning to take the LSAT soon, we at Varsity Tutors can assist you by providing a connection to a Memphis LSAT course. The LSAT, or the Law School Admission Test, is an exam that college students and professionals returning to school are required to take to be considered for law school.
A Memphis LSAT class may be the solution you need to prepare for the test. All classes are taught by an expert teacher, and you can access them online. The class assists you with getting used to the exam's structure and other components.
Do you yearn to attend the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law or another law school in the area? Then you will need to take the LSAT. Enrolling in a prep class is an excellent choice to help you along the way.
What could a Memphis LSAT course help me review?
The LSAT is a four-section test that includes Logical Reasoning, Analytical Reasoning, Reading Comprehension, and Writing. The exam is comprised of multiple-choice questions and an essay question. It's required for admission to many accredited law schools. It's highly recommended that you take the test as soon as possible so that you can be considered for admission the following fall semester. Let's go over the sections you'll find on the LSAT.
The Logical Reasoning portion has two sections with about 25 questions each. They contain short passages that measure your ability to identify points in an argument, apply critical thinking skills, and evaluate and analyze an argument. There's a 35-minute time limit per section.
The Analytical Reasoning portion contains one section with approximately 23 questions. It has four logic games that assess your ability to determine relationships between concepts as well as apply logic to difficult situations. It has a time limit of 35 minutes.
The Reading Comprehension portion has one section with 25 to 28 questions. It has four reading passages that test your skills in deciphering relevant information, drawing inferences from texts, and comprehending the authors' main points. You have 35 minutes to answer the questions.
The Writing portion is the last one on the test. You're given a topic with two positions, and you need to choose a position and defend your choice. You're evaluated on how well you present an argument. It has a 35-minute time limit and it is not scored.
The score you receive on the LSAT will be based on the number of questions you answer correctly. Because all of the questions are weighted exactly the same, the number of questions you correctly answer is what matters most to score, rather than which questions you answered correctly or incorrectly. You'll get between 120 to 180 points. Go ahead and guess if you don't know the answer to certain questions. There's no penalty for guessing.
How does a Memphis LSAT class help me study for the test?
All classes are held online, enabling you to participate in lessons from home or from your favorite coffee shop. Some students are concerned about balancing study time and outside responsibilities. You don't need to worry about choosing between your studies and other obligations because new sessions start every week. You also can sign up for a two-week class or a four-week class. Once you choose a Memphis LSAT class that aligns with your schedule, you can start partaking in lessons.
After signing up for a Memphis LSAT course, you'll join other students and a teacher in a virtual classroom. Everyone will collaborate in various ways to study for the LSAT. For instance, if you want to improve your skills for the Analytical Reasoning section, you can choose sample logic games and hone your abilities by solving them. Perhaps you want to prepare for the Reading Comprehension section. You and your classmates can bring passages from diverse sources and hold discussions about what the authors are trying to say. The teacher can give all of you hands-on experience with the LSAT by providing practice exams. If any of you struggle with finishing within the time limit, the instructor can share some tips on how to complete the questions quickly as well as accurately. Some students experience test anxiety, even if they know the contents of the exam like the backs of their hands. You can assist your peers (or they can assist you) with building confidence through relaxation techniques like mantras, a pep talk, breathing exercises, and other methods. By helping each other out, you're not just getting ready for the LSAT. You're demonstrating teamwork. And who knows? You and a few others might end up going to the same law school together.
A prep class also allows you to request one-on-one help with the teacher. They have gone through an exhaustive vetting process, so you can rest assured that you're being instructed by someone who possesses superb teaching and communication skills. For example, if you want to review the Logical Reasoning section, the teacher can offer sample passages containing arguments you can evaluate and analyze. Feel free to ask for assistance with anything you like, because your teacher is an expert on the content of the LSAT, and they're willing to lend their students a hand in any way possible.
How do I get started with a Memphis LSAT course?
If you are a student who is eager to sign up for an LSAT prep course, you should know that you are not just preparing for the test. I tutor the LSAT because I know it's a hard test and I know what it's like to struggle with it. However I also understand the process necessary to produce better scores, and nothing is more satisfying to me than helping someone achieve what seemed impossible a few months ago.... Your score is a product of so many factors--your understanding of the material, your speed, even how accurately you bubble answers--but in the end it all comes down to whether you studied the test from every angle and put in the time necessary to get the results you want.
