What does a Los Angeles GMAT prep cover?

The GMAT is a computer-adaptive test with four sections, each having its own individual subject area: Analytical Writing Assessment, Integrated Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, and Verbal Reasoning. There are three different sequences in which you can take the GMAT. Choosing a particular test sequence allows you to sort out the subject area you are most comfortable with and begin from there. In the next paragraph, we will take a closer look at each section so you can get a better understanding of the test structure and what is required.

The Analytical Writing Assessment section has one question, which is a critical argumentative essay. You are required to write and fully develop ideas on the provided argument. A computer system analyzes the structure, linguistic features, ideas, syntactic variety, and topical analysis of your essay. A human evaluator reads your essay for overall cohesiveness and to assess the strength of your argument, along with other areas, including quality of writing, expressed thoughts, ideas, and command of written English. You should be prepared to back up your opinion with facts by providing a critical analysis with supporting details. The time frame to complete this section is 30 minutes. The section's possible scores range from 0-6.

The Integrated Reasoning section assesses information presented to you in the form of numbers, text, and graphics. There are four different types of questions in this section: multi-source reasoning, which uses data from graphics and text to answer questions; table analysis, which will test how well you analyze and sort data in a table; graphic interpretation, which will focus on identifying relationships among data in graphs and charts, and two-part analysis, which will test your mathematical skills in solving simultaneous equations and comprehending complex problems. This section has a time limit of 30 minutes and has 12 questions. Integrated Reasoning has a score range of 1- 8.

The Quantitative Reasoning section is multiple choice, and there are 31 questions in total. You are given 62 minutes to complete this section. This section includes problem-solving questions and data sufficiency problems, where you will identify relevant data and make judgments to determine the point where there is enough data to solve the problems.

The Verbal Reasoning section tests your ability to conceptualize and understand logical and correct inferences in reading comprehension, critical reasoning, and sentence correction. You have 65 minutes to complete this section, and the score range is 0-60 with a total of 36 questions in total.

GMAT preparation comes in two different categories. There are Los Angeles GMAT prep courses and private GMAT tutoring. Once class starts, you will be able to collaborate with other students and indulge in essential discussions and activities that can help sharpen your skills in preparation for the GMAT. Group discussions and activities may help you to retain vital information and get a better understanding of how to maximize your critical skills, which may help in a variety of sections on the GMAT. Furthermore, collaborating and getting different perspectives on topics can create a dynamic learning environment and foster productive discussions. The things that you learn from these conversations and interactive sessions may boost the analytical and mathematical skills that can help you as you face complex questions on the GMAT.

No matter what learning style you have, Varsity Tutors can help you to connect with a Los Angeles GMAT tutor. An instructor can discuss the test at a pace that works for you.
