French Tutoring review by Molly in Danbury, CT
For this session, we covered the new topic that we started last time, which is about houses and household items. I started by giving the students the French words learned previously, and they would provide me with the English translation. I then drew and labeled a house after they told me the name of each section in French. The girls have each drawn and labeled their own houses as well. Lastly, I had them name items they would find in a living room, and I provided them a list with the French version, and, without yet knowing the corresponding words, they had to try and match them based on what they already knew.

French Tutoring review by Aurelie in Danbury, CT
I brought some sentences on two topics. The first one was about sentences the student will have to say or will hear in a restaurant. The second one was about how to describe the weather, and how to have small talk about the weather. On each subject, we worked on her writing, listening, and pronunciation. Finally we had a little exercise on understanding and vocabulary. I brought her two French musicals, "Romeo & Juliet" and "Les 10 Commandments," and asked her to watch them.

French Tutoring review by Audrey in Danbury, CT
In our first session with the student, I started by asking her what she was struggling with and what she wanted to review from last school year. After that, I asked her to describe herself, and to speak about what she likes to do. I think it is always a good start to evaluate what a student is able to say about himself, and it is also a good way to know him. We spent most of the session reviewing the present tense giving her some tips to help her memorize and understand the language structure. We finished the session reviewing vocabulary of places in the town. She was comfortable with this, so I asked her to make sentences using names of places with prepositions. This way, I can make links between the different parts of our session : conjugation, vocabulary, and prepositions. We scheduled a new session for next week and decided to work on past tenses.

French Tutoring review by Leila in Danbury, CT
In this first session, the student, along with her other two friends and I, got acquainted. In addition, we used the French book in order to engage in French dialogue. I was able to assess the students' French speaking level. In addition, I will send all three of the ladies a short French film to watch and answer some questions before our next session.
