Varsity Tutors can connect students and working professionals who want a Master of Business Administration degree and are preparing for business school entrance exams with a qualified, eager academic coach who knows strategies that can help make your Cleveland GMAT prep experience more effective. The Graduate Management Admission Test can be a stressful part of your business school application experience, especially for those who have test anxiety. Your score is important because admissions boards at your chosen school scrutinize that score to determine how well you'll fit in their programs, whether you're considering the Monte Ahuja College of Business at Cleveland State University or Western Reserve University's Weatherhead School of Management.

There are four sections in the GMAT, and they can be challenging. To prepare for your exam, you may want to find academic support. There are two ways to get that help. The first step to ensuring that you're prepared to take this exam could be to work with a Cleveland GMAT tutor, or to join a Cleveland GMAT prep class. You could even combine both the individual tutoring and the class formats.

What does Cleveland GMAT prep include?

The four sections of the GMAT include an Analytical Writing Assessment, Integrated Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning, and Quantitative Reasoning. There are 80 questions, some multiple choice, some open-ended essay questions. There is a 3.5-hour window to complete your exam. You can choose from three options for the order of the sections. We'll start by looking at the Analytical Writing Assessment section.

With the Analytical Writing Assessment, you'll be presented with an argument, and this section is meant to tell business school admissions boards how well you consider and reply to written arguments. It's also a way to judge your critical thinking skills. You'll be expected to give examples as you critique the given argument. You'll have half an hour to complete the analysis, evaluation, and response.

In the Integrated Reasoning section, you'll see four types of questions: interpretation of graphs and charts; sorting and analyzing information in a table; multiple source reasoning, and two-part analysis that examines your ability to evaluate tradeoffs, identify relationships and solve equations. There are 12 questions in the section, and you'll be given half an hour to complete this section.

The Quantitative Reasoning section has 31 questions, and a time limit of 62 minutes. Questions in this section focus on data sufficiency and how you use analytical reasoning and logic to answer questions and solve problems. Business schools use your scores in this section to determine how well you interpret data from charts and graphs, and how strong your mathematical reasoning might be.

In the Verbal Reasoning section, there are 36 multiple choice questions that focus on reading comprehension and critical reasoning. You'll be given a short passage to read and then you'll be asked to answer a few questions. As far as critical reasoning, you'll see specific questions that evaluate your ability to examine arguments and write them. You'll have 65 minutes to complete this section of the exam.

What are the benefits of different types of Cleveland GMAT prep?

To get ready for this test, you have two options. You could enroll in a group GMAT prep course, or choose one-on-one instruction with a tutor. No matter which option you choose, or if you want some combination of both, Varsity Tutors can help to get you into Cleveland GMAT prep study sessions quickly.

For those who love the energy and interaction that comes in group-style study sessions, a Cleveland GMAT prep course might be the right format for you. You'll meet and interact with an academic coach and other students through our Live Learning Platform, which allows you to interact and converse with the other students and your instructor in real time. It can be helpful to get feedback and tips from others who are dealing with the same sort of struggles that you are. You may find that the group sessions are helpful if you want new perspectives and tips for managing test-related anxiety or time management. These classes run for two weeks or four, and you can choose either length. New sections start every week.

For those who find group instruction intimidating or draining, there's the option to work with a Cleveland GMAT prep tutor one-on-one in private sessions. These sessions are unique because they're extremely flexible. You choose how to conduct the meetings - you can join your academic coach in the same physical location (like your favorite library or your home), or you can connect virtually, using the Live Learning Platform. From your first meeting, your Cleveland GMAT tutor will learn about you and your goals to make sure that they create a program that works for you. They take into account your academic strengths, areas of opportunity, how you learn best, and your personality to ensure that the way they teach you and help you through the material is what's best for you. They'll create a program that highlights concepts in Integrated Reasoning but really drills down on Verbal Reasoning if that's what you struggle with. They can help you to brush up on the planning and organization skills you'll need in the Analytical Writing Assessment. When you work with a Cleveland GMAT coach, they can rearrange your scheduled topics based on what they observe as you work together.
