If you want to attend medical school, you can study effectively in a Cincinnati MCAT class provided by Varsity Tutors. The overwhelming majority of medical schools in the country require students to submit the MCAT scores when applying. If you plan on enrolling in a top school like the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, you'll want to perform well on this exam to stand out from other applicants.
There's a lot of work that goes into preparing for the MCAT. It's one of the most comprehensive tests you'll ever take as a student, covering a number of topics related to chemistry, biology, and even physics. Performing well on this test requires more than a strong understanding of science. You also need to think critically and look at the context of each question before answering it.
Many students find the critical thinking aspect of the test to be the most challenging, and that's where our Cincinnati MCAT course comes in. After enrolling in this virtual course, you can immediately start collaborating with peers also studying for the test. Under the guidance of a professional instructor, you and your classmates will review important test material, looking at questions and answers more critically until you understand the consequences and outcomes of each answer. This, in turn, can help you build a greater understanding of the content on the test so that you feel more confident and relaxed when it's time to take the actual assessment.
What could a Cincinnati MCAT class help me review?
Our course is designed to prepare you for everything you'll encounter on the test. That means you'll review all four sections of the MCAT, as well as learn how to practically apply your knowledge the same way you would in a hospital setting. In terms of the actual material you'll learn in this class, the course covers the four sections of the test: Critical Analysis and Reasoning Skills; Psychological, Social, and Biological Foundations of Behavior; Biological and Biochemical Foundations of Living Systems; and Chemical and Physical Foundations of Biological Systems. Below is a breakdown of each component and what you should expect when studying for that section.
First and foremost, the entire MCAT is multiple-choice. Many of the questions aren't black and white, which means there are multiple correct answers and you need to choose the best one for your scenario. The Critical Analysis and Reasoning Skills part of the test is made up of 9 reading passages and 53 questions based on those reading passages. You'll encounter a wide range of topics on this part of the test, looking at everything from natural sciences to sociology and humanities. For this section, you aren't tested on your general knowledge as much as you're evaluated on your ability to extract and apply data. To score well on this section, you must demonstrate your ability to read critically and use contextual clues to solve problems.
The Psychological, Social, and Biological Foundations of Behavior section contains a mixture of passage and standalone questions. It also consists of 59 questions, with each of these problems focusing on an element of psychology or sociology. In order to score high on this part of the test, you need to have a keen understanding of human behavior and social relationships, as well as how various environmental factors play a role in influencing one's mental health.
There are also 59 questions on the Biological and Biochemical Foundations of Living Systems portion of the test. Here, you're given a mixture of passage-based and standalone questions covering challenging topics like human development, reproduction, and physiology. For this section, you must draw upon your understanding of life sciences, combining that knowledge with scientific inquiry and analytical skills to choose the appropriate answer.
The final section is the Chemical and Physical Foundations of Biological Systems. It also contains 59 questions delivered in standalone and passage-based format. Like the name suggests, this portion of the MCAT combines chemistry and life sciences. Some students find this part of the test to be one of the more challenging, as it covers a wider range of topics. Along with the different levels of chemistry and biology covered, you also need to have a good understanding of physics to answer all the questions correctly.
How does a Cincinnati MCAT class help me prepare?
If you're someone who prefers to learn through engagement, relying on study packets and worksheets isn't an effective way to prepare for the MCAT. We understand that, so our course offers a virtual environment where students can cover challenging concepts with a skilled instructor, asking questions and getting feedback on their performance.
But learning from an instructor is just the start of it. Our Cincinnati MCAT course does more than drill important definitions and concepts-it challenges you to truly understand the material covered. This is done through a collaborative environment that encourages students to work together to overcome challenges and solve problems. This enables you to share ideas with people from all walks of life, opening you up to new perspectives and ideas to draw upon when you're actually taking the test.

There's this satisfaction when my students have successfully grasped a concept. My philosophy is simple: students lead the way. It is up to them how they want to use our time together- whether it's solving sample test/practice questions together, going through incorrect questions, reviewing weak concepts, etc. the student helps me help them! Because every individual is different and has their own needs. There isn't a cookie cutter method to my teaching approach. It's very...
