How can Anatomy tutoring help you succeed?

Anatomy and physiology are two very important subjects, particularly if you plan to enter medical school. However, both of these subjects can be very challenging, especially if you have limited time. The amount of material can be difficult to digest, much less memorize and master, and it is easy to get lost in the flood of new terms. Even worse, if you miss a key concept early on, you might find yourself struggling throughout the rest of the course, as many of the more advanced concepts build on earlier material. Varsity Tutors offers anatomy and physiology tutoring in Los Angeles, CA. You can learn anatomy and physiology through one-on-one tutoring in the comfort of your own home or another location of your choice. We can help you find brilliant tutors with backgrounds in premedical, biology, and chemistry available to help you whether you are taking introductory anatomy and physiology in high school or a more advanced medical school-level course.

Session Summaries by Anatomy Tutors

Anatomy Tutoring review by Camilla in Los Angeles, CA
In this session, I finished helping the student study for her weather science quiz that she has on this Thursday. Her teacher had provided her with a review sheet, so I went over all of the concepts listed on the review sheet, making sure that she truly understood the key points behind the different weather topics: low/high pressure systems, Coriolis effect, greenhouse effect, and global warming. To review, we used her textbook and online videos that she had seen in class. I had her draw out diagrams for every weather concept to assist her visually. I left her the task of making flashcards of the definitions listed on her review sheet. She exclaimed that she felt much more confident with the material at the end of the session.

The student and I met at the library again. It is a little more distracting for him, but we made some practical headway. He had been sick and needed to make up some work in Science. We worked on vocabulary regarding plate tectonics. We also checked his Math, and added to our notes on King Tut. We made a new outline and Thursday we will put our facts into our outline and attempt a rough draft. This is a big paper and there is a presentation that will go with it.

Anatomy Tutoring review by Dominic in Los Angeles, CA
We talked mostly about wave physics, electromagnetic waves, the electromagnetic spectrum, the relationship between frequency, wavelength, and speed, wave characteristics, how sound works, SONAR, and particle characteristics of waves. In addition, we talked about how hearing works in the brain, in particular how sound localization works. We also went over solving equations for equilateral triangles, and we derived the 30-60-90 special right triangle rules by using Pythagorean theorem. The student didn't really struggle with anything and he had finished all of his work. I told him to review his class notes to prepare for his science test.

Anatomy Tutoring review by Jennifer in Los Angeles, CA
We spent most of today's session working on the student's science homework (physics), and then I gave her a worksheet with more solving of systems of equations as word problems and we worked through that together. I also introduced her to dimensional analysis to help her work with the units she is using in physics.

Anatomy Tutoring review by Parini in Los Angeles, CA
In this session we went over all the homework that the student had for the day. We started with Trigonometry which he breezed thru. Then we went over to Forensics which consisted of a Lab. The student had previously completed the lab so there wasn't much to go over except he had to rewrite it on a separate sheet of paper. As he was recopying his lab report, I made him a template test on farms. He notified me that he had a matching / multiple choice test the following day and so we reviewed all his material. We first studied all the characteristics on each character, then the quotes. Lastly we went over his PowerPoint and all the review questions. Throughout the whole session he remained focused and motivated to do well. I was very proud of him.

Anatomy Tutoring review by John in Los Angeles, CA
We are focusing on the student's upcoming exam which will cover chapter 7 and 8. We have gone over all the homework problems and now we are reviewing prior exams. We believe he will have a work function question, a Heisenberg uncertainty principle question, and then either a question proving that a certain waveform does satisfy the Schrodinger equation, or else a question asking him to normalize a function. We reviewed all of those. There is occasionally a question relating to a figure in the book, such as the vibrational energy, equal energy step diagram, so we will spend the next session looking at every figure. A slight problem that is easily addressed is remembering the integrals or derivatives of more complicated functions.
