Today, the student had been given an assignment over graphing exponential functions. She had had some questions about how changes in the function related to changes in the corresponding graph, which I answered using her class notes as a template. She was very comfortable with filling out a table of x and y values for each function, as well as graphing the coordinates. After each question, I asked her to describe to me how the function was transformed from the parent function, and she was able to identify the changes and use the proper terminology to explain it.

Today's session with the student went really well. We worked on finding areas and volumes of spheres and reviewed some homework. His biggest struggle for the session was with remembering the equations, but near the end he started doing much better. He had a good attitude like usual. The student was able to get a 97% on his last math exam and he did it on the first try. Amazing work, and I am so happy for him. I hope that he takes this to heart and realizes that he can get good grades without having to try very hard.

We reviewed concepts related to chi square and linear regressions primarily. The student appeared to have no problems with how to perform the analyses. Her biggest concerns related to the interpretation of the analyses. We reviewed a recent homework. She appeared to have little trouble with understanding the statistical concepts after we reviewed the interpretation of the results. With practice, the interpretation of the results will become easier for her.

Today the student worked on completing Chapter 5 homework and studying to make sure that he understood each of the concepts. Today we focused on with bisecting angles and segments. He was able to understand each concepts and solve the algebraic concepts incorporated into the shapes fairly easily. We also reviewed Chapter 4 as he needs to retake the test. We reviewed how to do several concepts for the duration of the session with the hope that he can receive a higher grade with the retake. I recommended that the parents check his homework every day for math work.
