My goals are to help students develop their critical thinking abilities and to encourage them to utilize these abilities in interpreting and interacting with the world around them. I believe that liberal education is one of the great pillars of democracy and civil society. If I can help young people understand and assess academic material, achieve their academic goals, and appropriate what they learn to apply it to their own lives and the world around them, I will be well satisfied.

I recently graduated from the University of Chicago with a B.S. in Mathematics and Computer Science, earning honors (cum laude) with a 3.88 GPA. In Fall 2026, I will begin a Ph.D. in Mathematics at Georgia Tech. I scored a 1550 on the SAT (790 Math and 760 Reading and Writing) and have a strong background in mathematics spanning algebra, geometry, calculus, probability, and advanced university-level coursework. At the University of Chicago, I served as a grader for an undergraduate probability course, where I evaluated student work and provided detailed feedback on mathematical reasoning and problem-solving. I have also volunteered as a math tutor for middle and high school students, working one-on-one to help them master challenging concepts and build confidence. These experiences taught me the importance of adapting my explanations to each student's learning style and current level of understanding. As a tutor, my goal is to help students develop a deep understanding of the material rather than simply memorize procedures. I encourage students to ask questions, think critically, and work through problems with guidance instead of immediately providing answers. I strive to create a supportive learning environment where students build confidence, become more independent learners, and achieve their academic goals. I particularly enjoy helping students prepare for the SAT, where success comes from both mastering mathematical concepts and developing effective problem-solving strategies. Whether a student is aiming for a higher test score, stronger classroom performance, or greater confidence in math, I am committed to helping them reach their goals.

I am a recent graduate from The University of Chicago. I graduated with a degree in Political Science with much additional coursework in literature and philosophy. My favorite part about being a tutor is the moment of satisfaction that comes with seeing one of my students greatly improve after a lot of hard work. My favorite things to tutor are the GRE and the SAT, in part because I feel like a high score on these exams should be accessible for anyone if they are given the tools for success. As a former high school and college debater I enjoy having an opportunity to help students talk their way through the various logical challenges within these exams, as well as develop the kind of self-awareness and mental discipline that is essential to persevering and getting those last few questions right.

I am currently a biology major at the University of Chicago with a specialization in endocrinology, where I have completed advanced coursework in the core biological sciences. My academic training has given me a strong foundation in subjects such as introductory biology, cell biology, and physiology, as well as the ability to break down complex concepts into clear, understandable ideas. In addition to college coursework, I have AP credits in U.S. History, European History, World History, and Language/Composition. My teaching experience comes from a combination of mentorship, peer support, and hands-on instruction in both academic and athletic settings. I have spent several years working one-on-one with individuals as a guide and instructor, where I regularly taught new skills, adapted explanations to different learning styles, and built confidence through structured, supportive sessions.

Teaching has been my passion since my early undergraduate years, and I love working closely with individual students on their total development as a student. It's one of the greatest joys in my life. My favorite roles have always been academic advising that combines specific intellectual topics with the broader questions of college admissions, and collegiate development across a range of skill-sets. This was my most recent position at Harvard University, where I served both as a mentor to my advisees on individual papers and tests, and also on how to take their development into their own hands and rise to their full potential. So, students and parents, I hope you will look to me for my many years of experience teaching and advising, for help with my strongest specific topic areas - Writing, English, Philosophy, and the Social Sciences - but also as someone who strives to empower a student globally, and someone who always gives every one of my students the greatest specific attention to their needs as possible across the full range of high school and collegiate demands.

I am currently an upper elementary teacher through Teach For America, and I've passed all of my elementary certification exams, while working on finishing my teacher license this academic year from calumet college, St. Joseph. My undergraduate degree is in Economics from the University of Chicago, and I did a lot of statistics, too!I like having kids how to read, write, and do math. Because I loved doing those in school, and I'll be teaching that this up coming school year. To have a struggling reader all of a sudden love reading and attack hard words never before tried is the best feeling in the world.I believe education should be fun, loving, inviting, challenging, and organized.

Hi! I'm a recent graduate with a BS in chemistry and currently a PhD student in materials science. While I've always been fascinated with math and chemistry, they didn't come easy for me. I am a graduate of the University of Chicago. I have recently received my Master's degree in Physics. I am currently pursuing research in Quantum field theory and in particular Phenomenology. I am also interested in General relativity and Cosmology. I have completed my undergraduate education at the National Institute of Technology ,Calicut. I have started teaching Physics and Mathematics for high school students voluntarily in my neighborhood after my undergraduate education and I have helped them to prepare well for the JEE (Joint entrance examination, India) examination. I am in my 6th year teaching English at a private independent school in Pittsburgh where I also serve as the Associate Director of College Counseling. I like to practice what I preach, so I remain active as a freelance writer. My most recent article was published by the new Pittsburgh magazine 1839. I also compose and produce music. I am a former chair of the alumni schools committee for my alma mater, The University of Chicago, and I currently interview local applicants for admission each cycle. I simply love empowering youth---—especially through writing, and I spend much of my free time teaching summer programs and leading workshops on writing and the college process.

I can work with students to help them master the material for a particular topic or to construct a comprehensive program for enrichment throughout the course.While earning my Bachelor's degree at The University of Chicago, I studied both the biological sciences and the historical context of large-scale research projects in Biology (as an example, the Human Genome Project). I then completed my Master's thesis in Transplant Immunology at Mount Sinai School of Medicine where I studied the methods the host immune system employs to reject donated tissues. I currently work as a researcher in immunology at the NYU Skirball Center for Biomolecular Medicine.Apart from my laboratory background, I also have substantial writing experience. As an undergraduate, I was a writer and editor for The Triple Helix Journal. This publication covers legal, ethical, and political implications of newly minted discoveries in science and medicine. Also, throughout my laboratory research career I have written and edited manuscripts for publications in research journals.
