Hi! I'm a freshman at Syracuse University, majoring in History and Political Science (both with concentrations in America) and minoring in Psychology. All of my classes have demonstrated positive growth over the course of a year.I also run a college prep clinic for students from Somali backgrounds and have done so for the past four years.I started in education through Teach for America as a Spanish and remedial English teacher at a high school in Greenwood, MS. I tutor English, Writing, Math, Social Studies, and Spanish. I personally love to teach any writing component, because I enjoy the process of creating an essay which everyone can enjoy. I consider my tutoring style to mimic that of a coach; my goal is to push your student toward a higher end. I have an ability to build a quick rapport with students and have them understand the work necessary to succeed on their chosen path.In my spare time, I like to run, read, write, and watch sports.I'm looking forward to helping your student find personal success in their academic lives!

I have recently retired from the HiTech industry as an Engineering Executive with a Professional Engineering License practicing more than 35yrs. Additionally, my MS Mechanical Engineering Degree was focused on Structural Mechanics as a specialty. Since retirement from industry, I have been a substitute High School teacher for Math and Science along with being a Varsity Tutor. Both educational roles allow me to be a mentor by helping future STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) students grow educationally, and Engineers pass their FE & PE Exams in achieving Engineering Licensure. The FE & PE License Exam Curriculum that I have developed is highly successful with over a 90% passing rate for those students tutored.
