I am a South Brunswick High School graduate and am a undergraduate student at Rutgers University - New Brunswick. In college, I am studying Cell Biology and Neuroscience on the Pre-Medical track. While being on my academic journey, I am also on a Rutgers dance team, I play the piano, and love photography. With my interest in piano, I tutor students of all ages. Starting from pressing the keyboard to playing a piece. I've also been a math tutor, helping students achieve their academic goals in algebra, geometry, calculus, and more! Throughout my journey of tutoring, I know to make the environment comfortable and enjoyable while learning. Ensuring the students are motivated and enjoying to study is the most important. I am here to help support students during their academic journey. With years of working with students, my interest for tutoring has developed into a passion.
I've travelled the world mentoring students in Japan, forging houses in India, founding soccer programs in Costa Rica, and graduating teen moms in Texas. Education has captured my attention the world over. I'm eager to keep my hand in the field with Varsity Tutors. My other passions find me out on the pitch, drenched at Barton Springs, or languid in a Netflix puppy pile.

Throughout my high school and college years, I always loved helping students learn and succeed. I would always work with my younger siblings, as well as other young children in the neighborhood to help them with their work. I am passionate about helping other students because as I grew up, I had people who would help me progress, so it is important to me to give back to the community as well.
I am a second year Graduate student at the Rutgers University Business School, pursuing a Masters of Business Administration (MBA). Throughout my career, I have spent time tutoring students in the fields of Algebra, Calculus, and Statistics. I enjoy working with these topics as they are prevalent in "every-day" life; for example, as a manager I have used these concepts to effectively monitor staff and inventory. My experiences, combined with my current MBA curriculum, have greatly enhanced my ability to tutor students who may be struggling with these topics. As a middle school student, I found Mathematics difficult and overwhelming. However, an eight-grade algebra teacher fueled my passion for the subject by making it fun, interesting, and easy to understand. As a tutor, I feel that it is my obligation to transfer that passion to each of my students. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, discovering new music, working out, and cooking.
I have been tutoring math, statistics, and economics for schools and companies since 2012. I am currently an instructor at NYC College of Technology and pursuing a Ph.D. in economics at the City University of New York. I received my bachelor's degree, magna cum laude, and master's degree (both in economics) from Rutgers University in 2014 and 2015, respectively.I would describe my tutoring and teaching style as Socratic; that is, asking and answering questions in order to stimulate critical thinking in my students and tutees. I aim to act as a guide for my students, pushing them to obtain answers rather than rely exclusively on others. In doing so, I hope to put my students' intellectual development in their own hands while giving them every resource at my disposal which will help them to succeed.
I earned my Masters in Public Administration from Rutgers University and hold a Bachelor of Science in Marketing Management from St. Peter's University. Since completing my degree at Rutgers, I have dedicated myself to obtaining several Procurement/Supply Chain-related certifications, including the State of NJ Qualified Purchasing Agent, Certified Supply Management Professional (CPSM), and Certified Public Procurement Officer (CPPO). As an Adjunct Professor, I have had the privilege of teaching courses in both Supply Chain and Political Science. My extensive background in government work has allowed me to apply knowledge and experience from both areas to successfully execute projects and develop programs for the public good. When it comes to assisting struggling students, I believe in the importance of listening to understand their perspective on where they face challenges. By doing so, we can collaboratively identify effective approaches to the subject matter, often breaking it down into manageable pieces. A guiding principle I adhere to is encapsulated in the question, 'How do you eat an Elephant?' - the answer being, 'In small bites.' I am a staunch advocate for lifelong learning and firmly believe that continuous education is vital for personal fulfillment. I strive to instill this mindset in all my students, emphasizing the enduring value of learning throughout one's life.

I am a very patient person who loves to include examples and activities so that my students grasp the content with confidence and excitement. I tutor English for all grades and Mathematics at the elementary level. Outside of academia, my interests include travel and multimedia artistic expression.
I am currently a sophomore at Rutgers University pursuing a degree in Computer Science. Throughout my lifetime I have had a huge passion for sharing my knowledge with the youth and would love to tutor students with everything I can offer. I have a degree in Biomedical Engineering and a Masters in Prosthetics and Orthotics. With this background it has trained me to think differently. It has also taught me that there is no one right way to do something. I developed a love for tutoring when I was in high school working with my mom at her tutoring center. I was also a manager in college working in the student centers. So I know that everyone does not learn or communicate the same. My challenge was finding the best to demonstrate what was needed based on their learning style. I love challenges and my goal is to demystify math for your learner.
The students I teach have had a varied experience with the writing process: some have had very positive experiences over the years and come to me with strong skills; others have not met with much success in the past as far as their writing goes, so they exhibit a lack of confidence. No matter where on that scale they may be when they arrive in my session, my goal for all of them is to help them become better writers and communicators than they were when they first came to me. I believe that all students are capable of producing well-organized, clear, insightful writing--it is just a matter of recognizing and honing each student's particular strengths.
I am a practicing internal medicine physician in an academic setting. I have great interest in teaching, helping and inspiring future healthcare professionals. I am happy to help however I can.
My journey as an SAT tutor began during my own high school years when I recognized the significance of standardized testing in shaping students' academic futures. Motivated to help others navigate this crucial process, I embarked on a mission to demystify the SAT and empower students to excel. Over the past six years, I have had the privilege of working with students from diverse backgrounds, witnessing firsthand the transformative impact of tailored instruction and mentorship.Through my extensive experience, I have developed a comprehensive understanding of the SAT format, content, and scoring system. I utilize this knowledge to design personalized study plans that cater to each student's unique strengths, weaknesses, and learning style. By fostering a supportive and collaborative environment, I encourage students to develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and time management skills essential for success not only on the SAT but also in their academic endeavors. In addition to my specialization in SAT tutoring, I have been fortunate to teach high school history, focusing specifically on AP US History. This dual role has allowed me to foster a holistic understanding of students' academic needs and aspirations. By integrating my knowledge of historical events, themes, and analytical frameworks into my SAT instruction, I offer students a unique advantage. I believe that by engaging students in lively discussions and providing them with historical context, I not only deepen their understanding of American history but also equip them with the tools to excel in the SAT's reading and writing sections, which often draw upon historical passages.
I am currently a junior attending Rutgers University Business School. As part of the Honors College at Rutgers, my courses are generally higher levels than standard courses. I am working towards my Bachelor's degree in Marketing. Through work experience writing for the sporting website TheSportsQuotient, my writing skills are sharp and it is a subject that I enjoy teaching. I am in the process of writing my own series of short stories as part of my Senior Thesis. Through an official non-profit that I was a part of starting, I have experience tutoring and mentoring children in Newark, New Jersey. Through the non-profit, we met with students twice a week after school to help them with their school work as well as to teach them other life skills. As an assistant supervisor for North Brunswick Township Department of Parks and Recreational Services, I have worked with children ages 5-16 for five years now through after school programs and summer camp. Through my knowledge of a multitude of subjects, including Writing, Reading, History, Public Speaking, and others, I am confident in my abilities to help students excel. I also have knowledge in AP Testing as I have taken a variety of AP tests when I was in high school, including AP US History, AP Composition, and AP Literature.Outside of these academic environments, I enjoy watching and playing all sports, reading, and listening to music. My favorite sports to watch are football and basketball.
I am a professional musician with a passion for teaching music and math. My favorite part of tutoring is getting to know students and watching them achieve more than they thought was possible. I like to take the fear out of math and try to convince everyone that math is very fun and engaging.

This enables me to relate the classroom to the business world.I have over 25 years of experience in teaching financial and managerial accounting, to both high school and college students. I am a medical school graduate who is currently applying for residency training while tutoring to make some extra cash on the side. I enjoy teaching and have a strong background in all areas of math and science.
I entered the tutoring profession to help others achieve their full potential academically, professionally and personally. I believe that those three are interwoven because in order to succeed in one you have to strive and achieve in all.On a personal note I am an avid runner and reader. I enjoy the outdoors but I also enjoy those quiet moments after a busy day.
Throughout my career, I have always enjoyed working with children. There is nothing more rewarding than watching a young child discover that they have just learned a new skill. It's an appreciation that is unmatched. I have taught multiple grades in multiple settings. I understand and teach various differentiation methods. My goal is always to enable children to grasp the foundational knowledge and skills that they will use for the rest of their lives. A good education, in my belief, is the single most important thing we can impart to the younger generation.
I am a fourth-year medical student at New York University School of Medicine. As a soon-to-be physician, I have vast experience talking to patients about complicated medical conditions, treatments, medications and various diseases. It is my job to make sure that they understand what I am talking about in a way that allows them to explain it to others. I believe this is one of my best qualities to work as a tutor; the ability to mold concepts to in a way that others are able to comprehend them with ease. I have had many years of teaching experience, which has varied in many ways throughout my life. When I was a teenager, I worked as a swimming instructor for children ages 3 to 12. This allowed me to foster a specific teaching technique where I patiently worked with my students to dissipate their fears (like the fear of water), and build the trust needed for them to allow me to explain very complicated concepts in a way that they'll understand it. I used this technique later in college while I tutored fellow classmates and other college students various subjects, including: math, chemistry, physics, Spanish and biology. After college, I worked as a middle school and high school tutor, teaching math and sciences to children in East Orange, New Jersey. In addition to my teaching experience, I graduated summa cum laude from Rutgers University with a GPA of 3.8 and a bachelors in both Chemistry and Spanish. As a chemistry major, I feel confident teaching chemistry and organic chemistry. As a medical student, I also feel confident teaching MCAT preparation, physiology and anatomy. I am a native Spanish speaker and studied Latin American and Spanish-Language literature extensively, so I am very comfortable teaching Spanish for any level of proficiency. Lastly, as a native Spanish speaker I also feel comfortable teaching English-as-a-second-Language (ESL) as well as TOEFL preparation.
I am a top graduate of Rutgers University and hold a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Although I am a practicing clinician, I also love to teach and tutor. I have had several years of teaching experience, including a variety of teaching experiences throughout my undergraduate and my doctorate program. While teaching, I incorporate real world examples to help the student understand the application of the learning material to the real world environment. I also tailor each student's tutoring session to meet the individual needs of that student, and am able to assess the learning process and progress of each student. Aside from physical therapy and education, I also hold a strong interest in world travel, photography, and animal welfare. I look forward to meeting and working with you to meet your educational goals.

In addition to conducting scientific research, I have developed an strong passion for teaching.I have had the pleasure of teaching/tutoring high school and college students from diverse backgrounds for more than seven years, covering standardized test such as SAT, ACT, and GRE as well as high school and college math and science courses.I believe that effective teaching is not about transfer of knowledge from instructor to student but rather providing an interactive learning environment that motivates students to be active and fully engaged in their education.I understand the importance of not only learning the material well but translating that education into demonstrable performance on time sensitive exams.I will help you achieve your academic goals through a comprehensive study plan involving an individualized curriculum and a strategic study plan to improve not only your learning, but also your test-taking skills.
I carry a bachelor's degree from Rutgers University and I'm applying to dental school. I'm a tutor at my university's learning center and have experience as a chemistry lab teaching assistant. My favorite aspect of tutoring is being able to relieve a student of their worries and assure them that they're completely capable of comprehending the material if they simply dedicate enough time to practice. I myself, was an average student in high school, however once I got to university I really applied myself and worked hard to get to where I'm at now. I started out taking basic classes and constantly going to the tutoring center as well as my professors' office hours. Building a solid base in these lower level courses helped me understand more difficult material in higher level classes to come. Once I started to take higher level science classes I was towards the top of the class in subjects like chemistry and physics (classes have 100-200 + students). Building a solid understanding of the basics is the key to success. I tutor general chemistry, organic chemistry, biology, algebra and test prep for the DAT. I especially enjoy tutoring chemistry which I view as being the central science in understanding the fundamentals of how the universe works at the smallest level. I can confidently help students with the DAT having scored well myself (I can provide documentation of my score). When I tutor a student I first like to hear from them what they understand and then build from there. I find this is efficient because we don't spend time on something he/she already understands and can dedicate time to learning new information. I then like to walk them through an example or two and supervise them while they attempt some problems on their own. I truly look forward to working with you and just remember that you're capable of doing anything you put your mind to!
I am attending Rutgers New Brunswick and pursuing a degree in Cognitive Science. Throughout my high school career, I actively engaged in multiple tutoring opportunities for my Science Honors Society. I was also a member of Human Who Incorporation where I crafted homework, tests, and presentation material for a variety of math subjects, along with PSAT reading and math sections. Additionally, my job at Kumon involved assisting students with their Math and English, along with grading both subjects. While I tutor in a range of subjects, my personal favorites are Math, History, and Science. Beyond tutoring, my own employment of a variety of study methods from blurting to note-taking will allow me to guide students in finding effective strategies for their learning. Overall, while I strongly believe in the transformative power of education, I am also familiar with the struggles one meets along the way and hope to help my students overcome these and have a successful academic journey.
I am a recent graduate of Rutgers School of Law. I went to law school not with the intention of becoming a lawyer, but instead to gain the tools necessary to become a more effective advocate and teacher. I believe that the best form of advocacy is through education, specifically teaching.
Hi! I'm a recent Rutgers graduate with a degree in Biomedical Engineering and a double major in Economics. I am currently working towards Law School. Over the past 5 years I've been tutoring for Varisty Tutors along with serving as a learning assistant for college level engineering physics. I've taught everything from SAT prep to advanced economics to Calculus. I believe in encouraging students to enjoy the subject rather than be forced into it. Once they build confidence in an area they will start to like the topic better and I hope to achieve that through working on the concepts and its practice problems as opposed to just aimlessly doing questions. In my spare time I like to play tennis, play guitar and workout with my friends.
I have experience teaching in various capacities in the field of Economics, Math and History in the United States and internationally. I was successful teaching Economics as an Adjunct Professor, Lecturer and Professor of Economics in various settings including online. Innovative teach using technology is my specialty. I am skilled in media such as video, online course materials (such as Blackboard and/or Sakai) and web sites to engage students in learning. I believe that students should be offered the most innovative methods of teaching in order to prepare them for the real world. My personal philosophy is to make the subject applicable to the students and realistic beyond theory. In addition to textbook information, my classes include current events and case studies to make the content of the course relevant to the students interest.
As someone with a physical and reading disability, I find it important to make learning accessible to everyone. I have a BA in psychology and a MS in computational biology (with a focus on neuroscience) from Rutgers University. After receiving my Masters degree, I taught an Intermediate Algebra course and a Cell Membranes course at Rutgers. At the same time, I was tutoring psychology and neuroscience at the University's Learning Center, where I came across students with a wide range of learning styles and strengths. I try to adopt a strengths-based approach to tutoring and teaching, spending time outside of tutoring sessions breaking down concepts to match students' needs. Outside of academia, I spend a lot time writing music and singing, in order to express my emotions and experiences in life.

I can't describe in words what a rewarding feeling it is to see my students exceeding after only a couple of sessions with me, whether it be in Biology, Mathematics, and Writing.
