Hello! My name is Arianna Crossman, and I am a senior at Michigan Technological University pursuing a degree in Human Factors Engineering with minors in Business and Mathematics. My experience working with children comes from growing up with six siblings, serving as a teaching assistant, and working as a Sunday school teacher. These experiences have helped me develop patience, communication skills, and a genuine passion for helping others learn. Education has always been something I value and enjoy, and I want students to experience that same sense of curiosity and confidence. I believe learning should encourage students to ask questions, explore new ideas, and understand the real-world application behind what they are studying. My goal is to create a supportive environment where students feel encouraged to grow, think critically, and enjoy the learning process.

I am interested in assisting students succeed by tutoring them. I have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master's degree in Operations Management. The Operations Management program is a business program which utilizes science and math to solve business problems and make systems more effective and efficient. I have been working with people in the manufacturing sector for over thirty years. During that time I have had many opportunities to guide new employees and teach training classes. I even had the opportunity to act as a year-long technical advisor to three separate teams of university senior design teams as they completed their senior design project. I am excited about this opportunity with Varsity Tutors to help students!
I hold undergraduate degrees in both Business and Mathematics, as well as graduate degrees in Business and Education, and a doctorate in International and Comparative Law. With over 20 years of teaching experience across English, science, and math, I've worked with students ranging in age from 2 to 20 in three foreign countries and, most recently, in my home country, the United States. My background includes extensive test preparation instruction for the TOEFL, SAT, and ACT, AP and core math classes for middle school through high school and university. I have authored 20 peer-reviewed publications that reflect my commitment to research and academic excellence through interdisciplinary studies where data and policy guide soft legal argumentation. I am passionate about lifelong learning and find great fulfillment in teaching, mentoring, and continuously growing alongside my students.
Nice to meet you! I'm J.T., a mathematician, computer programmer, and general-purpose nerd stereotype from Minneapolis, Minnesota. I hold two master's degrees: one in human rights policy from the University of Minnesota, and one in discrete mathematics from Michigan Technological University, where I also completed my undergraduate studies with a dual major in computer science and mathematics and a physics minor. As part of my master's program, I held an assistantship teaching first-year calculus for three semesters (after one semester of training), and I have worked with individual students for several years through private tutoring work. I've also worked as a teaching assistant for linear algebra and later calculus courses. In addition to my tutoring work, I am also pursuing a public policy career, intending to use my multidisciplinary background to use helping address the complex intersection of developing technologies and human rights issues.
