There are so many wonderful things to learn! I am a lifelong teacher. I hold a New York State teaching certification in art and live on Long Island, in New York, where I have tutored professionally since 1985. Over these many years, I have worked with students from 5 years through 80 years of age, and at all levels of academic achievement, including students who were home schooled and those with IEPs. I have tutored the GRE, GMAT, and LSAT exams for students who were candidates for graduate school, and have worked with students taking the NTE and NYSTCE exams to earn New York State teacher certification. For the past fifteen years, I have focused on SAT, ACT, SSAT and ISEE prep, which I really enjoy. Over these fifteen years and literally hundreds of students, I have honed my style and skills. I develop strong rapport with my students, seek out their individual needs, foster healthy improvements in their scores and work to build their confidence. I have a small backyard nursery, and I spend much of my personal time tending to my plants and enjoying needle arts and painting.

We designing customized hedging strategies for the largest oil refiners, oil transportation and exploration, airlines and trucking companies. These strategies used futures, options and OTC swaps. During my time at two firms was involved in building electronic trading platforms over 20 years ago. While marketing an equity derivative trading platform I was offered a position on an equity derivatives brokerage desk as a sales/trader for an inter-dealer broker. Here I acted like an extension of my clients trading desks executing delta neutral trades, risk reversals and many other strategies either on a held or not held basis. Held means I am given the price by the client to fill and not held means the order is at my discretion to pick the price. Here we traded large institutional size orders of every strategy for the banks client who are sophisticated hedge funds, asset managers and clients were desks in a bank who used me instead of their in-house trading desks. I have been involved in quantitative portfolio management recently designing customized passive investment strategies for state pension funds using quantitative data to help them generate alpha with little tracking error risk. The past six years I have been working at an after-school program for economically challenged children grades K-6th. I am the kindergarten reading specialist in the Early Childhood Reading Program and also work with students in other grade levels whenever necessary. I have taught 6th grade Social Studies remotely to students in South Carolina. I tutor privately working with students from K-12. Additionally, I have worked with a company where teachers work remotely with students in one on one, small group, and whole class instruction settings, since 2019. I have a Bachelor's degree from Hofstra University and an MBA from Long Island University. I hold the CFP(Certified Financial Planner) and a ChFC(Charter Financial Consultant) designations. Since 2014 I have been an adjunct professor at Berkeley College in New York City teaching both onsite and online. I've been a university professor for the past five years and have been tutoring for as long as I can remember. I began tutoring informally while I was still in high school, helping friends get ready for their SATs, helping them with assignments. I realized quickly that I was suddenly helping half of my school so I decided to make some fliers, and some money, and offer my tutoring to anyone and everyone in my hometown. Suffice to say, some odd years have gone by since then and now, even as a full-time professor, I find myself enjoying the experience of tutoring and helping students on an individual level enough to continue doing it. With a background in the sciences and mathematics, and a graduate degree in philosophy I'm incredibly well-rounded in terms of what I'm capable of teaching and moreover, have a generally positive pedagogical approach to everything; I really do love teaching. After graduating from Long Island University, earning my Bachelor of Arts Degree, I had the opportunity to enter the world of Finance and have enjoyed a rewarding career of over 20 years. Along the way, I have earned my Certificate in Financial Planning from Bryant University. Preparing for a certification exam can be a daunting and stressful experience. I strive to help my students isolate their strengths and weaknesses, then help them construct a plan to approach the material in a disciplined and structured manner. By doing so, they gain confidence and focus on maximizing their efforts to achieve success.

I first discovered how much I love teaching during my summers in high school when I was working as a lifeguard at our local town pool. I had completed the Red Cross Learn to Swim/Lifeguarding program and was invited to return to the program as an instructor. Initially, it was more a love of the water than love of teaching that drew me to that first summer job I ever had, but I soon realized how rewarding it is to work with young people and help them acquire skills they can use throughout their lifetime.Teaching swimming lessons grew into helping my neighbors' kids with homework, and upon graduation from high school I entered Long Island University as a Childhood Education major with a minor in psychology. Since then, I have enjoyed my career as an educator, working with students both privately and in the classroom .When I am not teaching, I spend my time traveling, cooking, and taking care of my many animals.

I enjoy helping people learn and thrive. I have a Bachelor's Degree in English Education and a Master's Degree in Special Education. Since teaching for over 19 years, I've learned that there are many styles of learning and that earning can be a lot of fun. There are many techniques and strategies that I have enjoyed sharing with my students to give them confidence in reading, writing, public speaking, and more.
