Retired professor, Doctor in Mathematics from Georgia Institute of Technology, more than 30 years teaching and researching, eager to help

I am currently attending Georgia Institute of Technology where I am studying economics. I am passionate about teaching because I love helping achieve that moment of understanding and I believe that teaching is crucial to the future of our society. I have worked with a large age range of students in a variety of subjects. The subjects I have the most experience tutoring are history, economics, and high school and AP level math. My favorite subjects to tutor are ones that involve math because I enjoy applied math and I want others to be able to enjoy or at least feel comfortable doing math. My teaching philosophy is to adapt to the concerns and needs of each student. I also aim to make the material engaging. Students learn in different ways and it is my job to determine how to best help them remember and understand material. My other interests include creative writing, football, swimming, hiking, rock climbing, and reading.
Hi! My name is Eric Park and I am a recent graduate from Georgia Institute of Technology. I have received so much help from different mentors and tutors, I want to give back and provide the same support. I scored in the 96th percentile on the updated LSAT and would love the opportunity to be a part of your LSAT journey!
I am a current student at Georgia Institute of Technology pursuing a bachelor's of science in Chemical Engineering.I have worked recently as a math tutor at a public tutoring center. Working with kids K-12, I have helped a diverse group of kids with math subjects ranging from counting to AP Calculus. With a large background in science, I also tutor kids that are struggling with chemistry and physics.Generally, my favorite subject to teach is algebra. Often times this is when kids begin to doubt themselves or first struggle with mathematics, so I think its important to make sure they are really comfortable with the skills they will need. With two years of professional mathematics tutoring experience, I am able to help students get to the very root of their struggles. My main priority is to not only give students the strategies they need to succeed, but also build confidence. I really enjoy when I see that a student has become an expert in their own right.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the Georgia Institute of Technology located in Atlanta, GA. I went on to pursuing a Master of Science in Biology from Tennessee State University located in Nashville, TN. I love teaching students taking both biology and biochemistry. I would love to share my knowledge, provide insightful connections and peak his or her interest in the subject matter. I worked as a graduate teaching assistant for two years. It is amazing to witness when a student who is struggling starts to understand the topic and then begins to build upon that understanding. I hope to bring my education and experience into my work as tutor on this platform!
I recently graduated with both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in computer science from Georgia Tech in the Spring of 2023. During my last year, I was a teaching assistant and I became very passionate about teaching and helping students achieve their goals, not only in computer science, but across other subjects as well. My favorite subjects to tutor are computer science, math, and physics, but I am continuing to add to my range of subjects that I teach. As a teaching assistant at Georgia Tech, I developed effective communication skills and learned to adapt my teaching style to diverse learners. These experiences reinforced my commitment to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.Outside of college, I have found fulfillment in tutoring younger students, witnessing their growth and success firsthand. I believe in the power of personalized instruction and the importance of nurturing a student's holistic development. Therefore, as a tutor, I am dedicated to tailoring my teaching style to each student's unique needs. I like to foster a supportive and collaborative environment, encouraging students to ask questions and explore their curiosities. My goal is not only to help students grasp subjects related to computer science, but also to ignite a love for learning across a variety of subjects.Beyond my academic background, I have a diverse set of interests. I really enjoy hiking, cooking, dancing, and traveling.
Hey! I'm a rising sophomore at Georgia Institute of Technology. I love teaching and got a lot of practice from tutoring my brother. Physics is probably my favorite subject to teach. In my spare time, I produce music and play/watch a ton of basketball! (Feel free to talk to me about either)
I have a passion for helping others, and I am experienced in tutoring all grade levels K-12. I enjoy social interactions, and this makes it easy and fun to work with students. I believe that my style changes to fit the student, but it is always generally light-hearted and enjoyable. I learn as much from you as you'll learn from me, and I look forward to working with you.
I am currently pursuing a Bachelors of Science in Aerospace Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. I am also a graduate of the high school International Baccalaureate Program. I have informal experience tutoring high school physics, but am most passionate about tutoring students for the ACT standardized test, having had extensive experience preparing for standardized tests throughout high school. I am eager to aid students in boosting their scores before their upcoming college applications, an important milestone in many students' lives. In my free time, I also enjoy playing tennis.
I am an incoming college sophomoore studying Aerospace Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. I was one of the top scholars at Carmel High School in Indiana and have various experiences teaching and tutoring through leading the Carmel High School Science Olympiad team to Nationals for two years in a row. Many of my friends consistently come to me for help with various subjects because of my willingness to help and teach in a way that makes sense to everyone. My specialities are physics, chemistry, math, and economics but I am comfortable tutoring any STEM subject, the SAT, and the ACT. Some of my accomplishments include a perfect 36 ACT score, 800 on the Physics, Math Level 2, and Chemistry SAT subject tests, and a 5 on all the physics, Calculus BC, Chemistry, Macroeconomics, Computer Science, etc. AP exams. When teaching, I focus on making sure that not only do students understand different concepts, but also that students understand why and practical applications of the different concepts. As a recent high school graduate, I have a deep understanding of how high-schoolers think, what is covered in various courses now, and can connect with my students a lot more. Additionally, as an undergraduate teaching assistant at the College of Computing at Georgia Tech, I taught weekly recitation sections of 30 students and held weekly office hours. Therefore, I have lots of experience teaching and working with students.
Hey! I'm Sanjana, an engineering student at Georgia Tech with a love for statistics and computer science. Tutoring math and CS is super exciting to me. It's the stuff I get to learn about every day, so getting to share that energy with kids is something I'm really looking forward to. I want students to actually get why this stuff matters and hopefully inspire some of them to pursue it further down the road. Whether it's probability, coding, or anything in between, I'm here to make it click and help every kid feel way more confident in their own abilities. Learning should feel exciting, not scary!
I have been an engineer in the aerospace field for over 10 years. I hold a PhD and a Masters degree in Aerospace Engineering from GA institute of Technology. Prior to grad school, I attended the City University of New York where I earned two bachelors degrees (Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mathematics).I have tutoring experience with a wide variety of students from college student athletes to students attending inner city schools to those in exclusive private schools. Through it all, my tutoring philosophy has remained the same: to guide students to the discovery of problems solving instead of providing them with the right solution. Because ultimately my objective is to help students develop their ability to learn independently.Teaching has always been a passion of mine. Since my college years, I have tutored on and off for the past 15 years. I am equally comfortable teaching young students as well as adults in a variety of mathematics and related subjects (Algebra to advanced calculus to Geometry and trig to statistics), physics, and tests prep. Calculus one is of my favorite subjects to tutor, because it is always awesome seeing students' faces when they realized the real life meaning or applications of a mathematical theory.Outside work, I love outdoor activities and I am avid soccer and basketball fan. I am also fluent in French.
