I recently completed my Masters degree in Neuroscience at Trinity College, Dublin. Prior to pursuing my Masters I received a B.A. in Psychology from Emmanuel College, Boston. I plan on starting my PhD next year, and would ultimately like to become a professor. I want to teach because I have always enjoyed learning and helping other people to do the same.

I have always been a motivated learner, and this has ultimately helped me to be a motivated teacher. By receiving a well-rounded education, I believe that a person is made more able to meaningfully interact with the world around them. Math and science help us to understand how the world works, while English and literature help us to communicate with one another both in the present and in the past, and history helps us to see where we, as a species, have come from. Education can help us to see beauty and value in the world around us and in the path that brought us here, but also to see the road ahead, how much work is yet to be done, and how we start to do that work. To me, nothing is more important than learning, growing as a person, and helping others to do the same.
I am an experienced middle school teacher who taught Algebra 1 for 10 years and Grade 8, 7, & 6 math courses for 6 years. I graduated from University of Richmond where I focused on Education and International Business. I love math games and think it is important for students to have some fun with math.
I am an undergraduate student at the University of Rhode Island with three years of formal tutoring experience. I have 4 younger siblings, and growing up I would help them with homework once or twice a week. During high school, I started getting paid to tutor other students. I tutored in a range of subjects, including American History, introductory Spanish, Geometry, Algebra I and II, Language and Literature, Biology and Chemistry. My experience has helped me develop effective communication skills, and I am comfortable explaining concepts in new and different ways to help suit the needs of an individual student. During my senior year of high school, I worked exclusively with a student who had ADHD and several learning disabilities. This experience improved my tutoring skills and taught me specific strategies for helping students with learning disabilities.Currently, I am in the Honors Program at my undergraduate institution and I am taking advanced courses. I am majoring in Biology, so I have a strong science/math background. However, I have also taken a variety of Honors history and literature courses and I am happy to tutor in any area.Tutoring has been a very fulfilling experience for me. I enjoy helping students master complicated topics and achieve their academic goals. I am professional, calm, and patient. I am comfortable working with students of all ages and in most subjects, and I am happy to accommodate your needs. Feel free to contact me for more information about my qualifications, or schedule an appointment.
Graduated from Emmanuel College with a Biostatistics major. I tutor for Calculus 1 and 2 and Statistics. I tutored for Calculus 1 and 2 when I was a junior and senior at Emmanuel. Also, I tutored for Probability during my last semester of senior year. I am passionate about helping students because it feels reward I am able make a difference in someone's academic performance.
I have a great passion for the biological sciences. I am a high school biology and physics teacher that graduated from Emmanuel College in Boston in May 2017 with a degree in Biology and Biochemistry. I previously taught at a MA high school in the topics of Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, and AP Biology.
I have been teaching for 14 years at various levels of education. I began my teaching career in elementary education and slowly worked my way through middle school and high school. My main focus in teaching has always been math and science though I have taught all subjects. I am currently a 9th grade algebra and geometry teacher. I am always looking for ways to help students understand concepts in new and creative ways.
I am currently a Masters level student at Regent University and will graduate with a Masters in Human Services in December 2021. Throughout my college years I have been a nanny to many children and have helped them through reading issues and homework in general. I was Also a peer mentor and helped the tutor Psychology and Education students at my college.I work in an individual way where I focus on the learning style of the student and help them to gain confidence in their study habits. I enjoy getting to know people and I understand that everyone learns differently and no matter the grade or level they are at, they deserve to be taught in that way. If a student is very visual like I am I use PowerPoints, print outs and pictures to help to understand the concepts they are learning.
I am a two year post-graduate of Emmanuel College where I was a pre-med major. During my time at Emmanuel, I was heavily involved in the school's tutoring program. For two and a half years I worked as Emmanuel's biology, and Anatomy and Physiology tutor, as well as a part-time lab assistant for Organic Chemistry. In addition to tutoring college level classes, I also was a part-time teacher's assistant at a local preschool. I was very fortunate to work in both fields at the same time as it resulted in creativity with my higher level lesson plans, and examples of real-life application to demonstrate to my preschool students.
