A graduate of Bucknell University, I have studied both English and Business Management as an undergraduate and worked on Wall Street before discovering a love of teaching.I call upon both my humanities and math sides in tutoring for all sections of the SAT and ACT. My SAT and ACT students have been admitted to colleges including Harvard, Princeton, Stanford and Hamilton.I also have abundant experience working with younger students for private school entrance exams and my ISEE, HSPT and SSAT students have been accepted into the independent schools of their choice. I am highly effective at making the process of learning as enjoyable and fun as possible.As the oldest of four boys, I relate easily to students, and my tutoring sessions can feel like studying with a friend, albeit a friend who is helping them improve their scores. By making the material relatable and communicating it in simple terms, I get many students to understand seemingly difficult-to-grasp subject matter.I take great joy in seeing the moment a concept clicks in a student's head and seeing that student subsequently master a topic that never seemed possible to conquer.

I have a Master of Science degree in Optics and am working on a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, so it's not surprising that my favorite subjects to tutor are Physics and Math! I enjoy helping my clients increase their confidence as they improve their skills. I always make an effort to find applications that are interesting and relevant; I believe that math and science knowledge benefits everyone, even those who aren't pursuing careers in STEM fields.My other interests include in-line skating, reading, music (I play French horn and harp), knitting, and container gardening.

I have taught math and computer science at the high school level for 35 years and in my retirement, I am on the Executive Team for the American Computer Science League. I am also subbing in both fields at 8 different Districts in the Pittsburgh area and tutor students on the side. I feel strongly that a good, solid background in math and/or computer science will make all of the difference in a student's future endeavors and want to share my expertise in making that possible. I am adaptable to all levels of ability and customize my approach to the needs of the student easily. I received a B.S. from Bucknell University and an M.S. in computer science from Villanova University. My favorite content is Algebra 2 because it is so integral to all of the rest of mathematics and my favorite programming languages are Python and Java. My name is Jared Feindt, and I'm a Mechanical Engineering PhD Candidate at Lehigh University. I enjoy lifting, basketball, soccer, investing, technology, and soon hope to travel. I graduated from Bucknell University with a BS in Biomedical Engineering in May, along with a Math Minor.I excel at teaching strategies for tackling standardized tests, including the GRE, ACT, SAT, and PSAT. I received nearly perfect scores on the math sections of all of these tests. In addition, I can also help with the AP level classes in Chemistry, Physics, Calculus, and Statistics, all of which I have since taken more advanced college classes for. Last May I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Bucknell University. While at school, I majored in both Political Science, and Classics and Ancient Mediterranean Studies. Although I have finished my undergraduate degree, next August I will be continuing my education as I will be attending Law School at the University of Pennsylvania. Tutoring has been an important and constant part of my life since my freshman year at Bucknell University where I joined an organization that provided reading tutors for children from the local elementary school in Lewisburg, PA. That experience brought me to recognize my fondness for tutoring, and led me to tutor students during all available opportunities. I spent each summer of college working at a summer camp where I would tutor students of all ages in a range of subjects. The subjects that I am most passionate about are English, History, and LSAT preparation. It may sound odd that I am passionate about teaching a standardized test, but witnessing the extent of improvement that can be obtained by students in only a few sessions is truly an invigorating experience. Throughout my personal struggles with academics, and my work with students of all ages I have discovered the value of the individualization of course materials to meet the unique needs of each student. I believe that all students are unique, and thus have their own personal styles of interpreting and retaining information. By teaching students through lessons created in harmony with an individuals learning style, students are able to understand information at a whole new level. I believe that all students are capable of achieving academic success, they just need information to be communicated in a way that their unique minds can process. During my free time I like to play sports, read, and travel. I love playing basketball, football and golf; and also am an avid Philadelphia Sports fan.

I spent some time teaching dramatic arts to students in Austin, Texas before I moved to New Orleans in 2008. There I taught kindergarten for two years and helped develop a fun after school program for our students. In 2010 I moved to NYC for graduate school at Teachers College, Columbia University. I had the pleasure to work as a service learning coordinator for PS 92 in Harlem with students from kindergarten to fourth grade. After graduating with my masters in Educational Leadership, I began working at a charter school in Newark, NJ. I spent three years teaching second grade at that school until moving into my current position as a curriculum designer for an educational organization. In my role as a curriculum designer, I work hard to prepare daily lessons for teachers around the country that lead students to mastery in literacy instruction.My passion in education is to provide students with opportunities so that they can develop future opportunities.
