Hi! My name is Carson. I graduated Cum Laude from Baylor University in 2018 with a degree in Russian (minors in math and physics) and I hold an Associates of Science from Big Bend Community College. I have been tutoring since 2013 at college, high school and middle school levels. I tutor all levels of math up to calculus II, as well as Russian, introductory chemistry, physics, special relativity and beginning quantum mechanics, but Russian and calculus are my favorites! I studied abroad in Russia where I got to visit the Red Square and Lenin's tomb! (I'll tell you all about it, but only if you ask in Russian...) I love helping people learn, and a huge part of my philosophy as a tutor is that ANYONE can learn to do math, solve physics problems, speak Russian, etc. With encouragement, motivation, time and attention, I have seen students will all starting levels of ability flourish and succeed in their studies. I love helping students to discover their own potential. I'm so excited to work with you and help you discover yours!

I have recently completed my Ph.D, specializing in computational modeling of plasma physics, and I have earned an M.A. in Physics and a B.S. in Physics with minors in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science. I was a College Physics lab instructor and learning assistant while working on my undergraduate studies, and I was lucky to be able to continue teaching and tutoring during my master's degree. I enjoy helping students make connections between the coursework and their daily lives, as well as finding out how to use their own intuition about the way physics works (and adjusting when intuition leads us astray -- I'm looking at you, non-inertial reference frames!).

I'm a recent Biochemistry graduate from Baylor University! I've always liked to help people out, and I love sharing scientific and mathematical ideas. I emphasize understanding above all else, because understanding is the path to original ideas!

With a B.S. in Neuroscience from Baylor University, and minors in biology and biochemistry, I have a passion for all sciences. I spent 3 years as a supplemental instructor for chemistry students, which made me passionate about tutoring and teaching beyond Baylor. I love seeing the "Ah-Ha" moment in students and helping them reach their academic goals. Learning should be exciting and stimulating, and I am here to facilitate that experience. My tutoring interests are mostly focused on Neuroscience, Psychology, Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, and Test Prep. My current position as a Licensed Mental Health Professional (formerly Social Services Specialist) requires me to both perform and support a number of the duties for this clinical teaching role that I believe would make me a unique fit for this position. My passion for advocating for high quality public education, especially for communities that are historically underserved, is equally matched by my professional and personal experience in school social work.community. I have remained connected to academia for the last ten years in many roles. Most recently, I worked with the Office of Admissions as a member of their team to help implement the inaugural reformation ofthe admissions review process at UT-Austin for the incoming freshman class, a process developed to address campus diversity through increasing the equity between the sociocultural and academic lens through which applicant admits are reviewed. I have been an invited guest lecturer at UT-Austin and Texas State for the last three years and continue to provide regularly scheduled professional development in Austin ISD that covers a variety of topics including crisis management, suicide and self-injury risk, multi-tiered systems of support and school ethics. I also have continued my work as a restorative justice advocateand facilitator, stemming from my work with Dr. Armor as a facilitator for the Institute for Restorative Justice, training district administrators all over Texas on the implementation of school-based restorative practice. From working critical incidents and crisis response, to identifying and facilitating professional development needs of faculty and administration, to analyzing academic, behavioral and sociocultural data and designing evidence-based intervention within our district, I have remained committed to action andadvocacy for the exceptional needs that have come with serving as a clinical professional in anenvironment still learning the magnitude and impact of the work that we do. As a clinical faculty member, the practical social work skill set that I have built would easily support learning and growth as our students process their own experiences in field and build bridges across disciplines that intersect with social work. I have had the unique opportunity to connect with many community knowledge I have gained through my own diverse experiences. Additionally, I work to provide an evidence base for social work in the education system through my work as a researcher at the university level, both collecting and analyzing data around complex trauma, educational equity, systems of intervention for sociocultural trauma and the significance of social capital for culturally and linguistically diverse communities.

I am a graduate of Baylor University. I received my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with a focus on Reading. I am certified in Reading Recovery and trained in Dyslexia Therapy. Since graduation, I have taught elementary school, raised four boys of my own, and tutored many private clients. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about Reading and Writing. In my experience helping students improve their reading and writing skills, we always have fun (and make remarkable advancements) using manipulatives and reading and writing about topics we enjoy.I am a firm proponent of quality education, and I believe it can increase options for opportunities for an improved quality of life. I am a graduate of Baylor University with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy. I am also a graduate of Texas A &M University Corpus Christi having earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art. My graduate exhibition combined photography and installation sculptural work. In 2018 I also earned a CELTA credential from Cambridge University, formally known as "Certificate for Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages", Level 5.From April 2019 through July 2021 I taught English with a large private school in Viet Nam. My school, ILA Academy, has more than 30 locations throughout Viet Nam with students aged pre-K through 12. Our teaching is based upon the CELTA principles of using mostly English at the graded level of students as assessed. As COVID-19 arrived in February 2020, we experienced intermittent school closures thereafter. Therefore, I also have experience teaching remotely. Additionally, I tutored private students in a home setting apart from my school and taught adult learners in United States whose first languages are not English.I strive to pair lessons in English with other academic disciplines, such as observing the natural world, geology, art, business, scientific wonders and travel. This is done with great sensitivity to the level of language proficiency between my students and me. I place a high value on the use of visual tools and pronunciation exercise designed to increase proficiency in auditory comprehension and speaking in complete sentences.I am a firm proponent of education, believing it to be absolutely necessary for an improved quality of life, and I try to impart this appreciation to all of my students. In my spare time, I enjoy teaching art, making art, vegetable gardening, cooking and comedy.

I am a graduate of Baylor University in Waco, TX and the George Washington University in Washington, DC. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and International Affairs. I have an MS in Information Systems and an MA in International Affairs with a specialization in Science and Technology Policy. I studied abroad in Mexico and Spain during high school and college. As a graduate student, I studied abroad in Peru, Belgium and the Netherlands. I am passionate about teaching several subjects, including Spanish to children and adults as well as technical writing and project management. I love all the subjects for different reasons. My goal in tutoring is to guide you to the next level of achievement. I believe that all education is Socratic, and we can all learn from each other. Hi! My name is Tyson, and I have been a teacher and school principal for a combined 16 years. I love learning in all subjects, but my very favorite is probably reading. Learning takes time, and I think it happens best in small groups or being able to talk one-on-one. I also have a three-year-old son, and we love reading books together.

I have been a registered nurse since 2009. I graduated from Baylor University with my BSN and graduated from University of Texas at Arlington with my MSN Nursing Education in 2020. I have a lot of experience with patient care, test anxiety, writing nursing exam questions, and advice on how to dissect and perform well on nursing school, licensing, and certification exams. My patient care experience helps as an instructor because I love bringing real life examples to nursing concepts. I enjoy teaching immensely, particularly on nursing topics. That is not something I thought I would say when I was going through nursing school! I look forward to one-on-one and group sessions because I think it is a great opportunity to focus on the educational needs of the individual learner. I graduated from Baylor University with a BS in Education and Health Science. On top of helping students learn certain topics and ideas, I also focus on making sure students learn how to learn, and then develop that ability.
