I am a graduate of Baylor University with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy. I am also a graduate of Texas A &M University Corpus Christi having earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art. My graduate exhibition combined photography and installation sculptural work. In 2018 I also earned a CELTA credential from Cambridge University, formally known as "Certificate for Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages", Level 5.From April 2019 through July 2021 I taught English with a large private school in Viet Nam. My school, ILA Academy, has more than 30 locations throughout Viet Nam with students aged pre-K through 12. Our teaching is based upon the CELTA principles of using mostly English at the graded level of students as assessed. As COVID-19 arrived in February 2020, we experienced intermittent school closures thereafter. Therefore, I also have experience teaching remotely. Additionally, I tutored private students in a home setting apart from my school and taught adult learners in United States whose first languages are not English.I strive to pair lessons in English with other academic disciplines, such as observing the natural world, geology, art, business, scientific wonders and travel. This is done with great sensitivity to the level of language proficiency between my students and me. I place a high value on the use of visual tools and pronunciation exercise designed to increase proficiency in auditory comprehension and speaking in complete sentences.I am a firm proponent of education, believing it to be absolutely necessary for an improved quality of life, and I try to impart this appreciation to all of my students. In my spare time, I enjoy teaching art, making art, vegetable gardening, cooking and comedy.

I am a Baylor University graduate, where I studied pre-med and earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. My passion for education and helping students stems from my 8 years of experience as a technical education teacher in a highly rated independent school district in Texas. I am pursuing an additional degree in the Healthcare field at this time and my own experience as a student is only helping to further solidify my passion for learning and helping students reach their academic goals. I just completed a very successful semester of course work in the following areas: Anatomy and Physiology, College Algebra, Elementary Physics and Sociology. Over the years, I have gained valuable experience working with students of various ages and backgrounds. My career in education began at the middle school level in the computer science lab. I continued on to teach various high school courses in Family and Consumer Sciences. My students academic success rates never fell below 95%. These experiences have allowed me to develop a deep understanding of how to adapt my teaching style to meet the unique needs of each student. I specialize in tutoring Algebra (all levels), Biology, Sociology and Theatre History, but my favorite subject to teach is Anatomy. I find this subject particularly rewarding because it allows me to help students uncover the beauty of the system that is our human body and it encourages critical thinking. My teaching philosophy centers on building a strong foundation of understanding while fostering curiosity and confidence. I believe in creating a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and exploring new ideas. My tutoring style is interactive and tailored to each student's learning preferences and focused on breaking down complex concepts into manageable steps. Outside of academia, I enjoy karaoke, baking and horror films! These activities help me maintain balance in my life and often inspire creative ways to connect with my students.
My teaching philosophy focuses on confidence and real-world problem-solving. As a Mu Alpha Theta member and top-10% high school graduate, I make abstract concepts logical and engaging for middle and high schoolers. My background with the National Society of Black Engineers and as an AP Scholar with Distinction helps me mentor students through advanced STEM pathways. I blend analytical thinking with empathy to cultivate academic curiosity and equip students for quantitative success.
I am currently a senior at Baylor University working towards a degree in health science studies, with a focus in pre-medicine. I am very passionate about the sciences and enjoy tutoring biology, physiology, and anatomy.I am passionate about tutoring because I feel that every student should be able to have access to adequate assistance outside of school. With an increasingly full public school system today in need of some serious reform, I believe that personal and in-group tutoring as supplemental instruction are crucial to allowing students to receive the personalized attention they need for success. Getting help outside of school is one of the first steps to being proactive in a student's academic journey, and improvement as well as new enthusiasm upon gained understanding early on in the academic journey can open doors of opportunity not only to universities and graduate programs, but also inside the mind of the student as growth and steady work ethic can be inspired by a positive learning experience. As a tutor, one has a direct impact on the educational experience of a student, and a positive one can empower and enable students to get help where they need it, as well as the confidence and positive foresight to continue on in time of difficulty. In light of this, I will try my best to make sure that every student I encounter gains an opportunity to have such a positive experience. By providing the right motivation to succeed, and applying materials learned to the real world, I hope to instill in students inspiration to gain knowledge not only for academic success, but to gain insight on the way the world functions around them. Knowledge truly is power, and being a tutor is the perfect way I can spread this power in the ways I can.
I am a graduate of Baylor University (sic 'em!) where I studied a smattering of things: Linguistics, French, and Great Texts. I wish I could have studied more; I love to learn! Since then, I've spent the last five years trying to impart my love of learning to students by tutoring SAT/ACT and Precalculus (3 years) and full-time teaching History and Literature (2 years). My favorite part about the job is getting to help students realize their goals and discover their strengths, even when they're struggling! My favorite subjects to tutor are test prep and essay editing (college essays included), but I also tutor French I and II and math up to Precalculus. When I'm not working, I love to cultivate my growing collection of plants, drink coffee with my friends, try new recipes, and read! I would love to tell you all about my favorite books and hear about yours.

A recent graduate from Baylor University with a bachelor of science in neuroscience. Currently I am a part-time 9th grade biology and 11th grade chemistry teacher, while also pursuing a 2nd degree to become a registered nurse. I have a passion for science and psychology. In previous years I have helped students with algebra, geometry, biology, intro in psychology, intro to neuroscience, and genetics. While at Baylor I worked in after school care where I helped K-5th grade with homework, mainly math and science. While teaching concepts I try to use analogies or examples that are relevant to the student.Outside of work and school I exercise, play with my dog, play tennis, volunteer or watch movies comedies, or sports. During football season I play fantasy football.
I am most recently a graduate of Baylor University where I received a doctorate in Religion, Politics, and Society. I also have an MA in Religion from Andrews University, a law degree from Harvard, and I received my BA in Political Science from the University of Connecticut. I tutor in history, political science, GRE and SAT test prep, and in public speaking and essay writing. I enjoy political science, essay writing and public speaking the most. While working on my doctorate I taught students on the college level, and my philosophy for working with those students informs the way I tutor. I try my best to establish that we are a team, working together to get the right answers and to learn the material. I try to stay away from rigid hierarchy as much as possible, while still making sure that we get the work done. Outside of teaching I am a sports fan (Philadelphia fan forever! Eagles, Sixers, and Phillies in that order, as well as UCONN basketball), and I have recently gotten back into my childhood habit of reading comic books.
