Hello, my name is Regina Romero, I'm originally from El Salvador. I have been teaching in Tennessee for 16 years. I graduated from Austin Peay State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish with minor in Education. I also received my Master in Education from Austin Peay University. I love teaching Spanish at the High School level. I love to travel to different countries, I exercise, and I love to spend time with family and friends.

As a passionate history enthusiast with a Bachelor's degree in History from Austin Peay State University, I am eager to share my knowledge and help students navigate the complexities of AP U.S. Government & Politics and AP U.S. History. My extensive background as a dedicated learner allows me to connect with students effectively. I believe that every student learns differently, and I strive to tailor my teaching methods to meet their unique needs, whether through storytelling, visual aids, or discussions. My goal is to foster a supportive environment where students can build their confidence and appreciation for history, empowering them to understand the past and its impact on our present. In my free time, I enjoy writing and exploring various perspectives on historical events, which further enriches my tutoring approach. Besides History I enjoy the sci-fi worlds of Star Wars, and fantastical worlds of George R.R. Martin, and Tolkien. I'm an avid reader and constantly try to better myself every day.

I am a current middle school science teacher. Helping others is something that I love to do and always found myself wanting to explain something to someone that I felt needed help.Prior to becoming a teacher, I was in healthcare administration. I found that as new employees joined my team, I was selected every time to train them. Each employee that I trained later moved on and got promoted.After several years in the field, I realized that the best part of my job was "teaching" others. I later left and became a teacher.I love what I do. In my opinion, it takes a special type of person to be able to teach. Teaching involves the ability to adapt, patience, fluency with words, and empathy. Without these skills, it is difficult to be able to tutor and/or teach others and help them reach a level of understanding.I love be able to watch students reach that "ah-HA" once they have reached clarification and understanding. I look forward to working with you.

I received my bachelor's degree in Physics and my Master's degree in Teaching from Austin Peay State University. I am currently working towards a Master's degree in Database Analytics.My favorite subject is Physics and my favorite tool is Math. I am very comfortable with both and have been teaching both to high school students for four years.I tutor because I enjoy teaching. A teacher simply cannot teach a group of thirty students to the same level and depth of knowledge as they can when teaching one on one.I tutor for comprehension. Rather than teaching students how to solve specific problems, I focus on developing the skills, knowledge, and strategies for solving problems that you have never seen before. My goal is to ultimately enable you to do the work by yourself without my input, even if the problem is completely new and unexpected.

I enjoy allowing students to gain confidence in their intellectual abilities as well as in their day-to-day lives. Ideal for students who need flexible weekend support.

I am infinitely curious and passionate about understanding versus knowing a topic. I'm also grateful to be able to give back to people because of how mentors have helped me.

I believe that learning should be three things: fun, enriching, and accessible to everyone! I'm certified History 7-12 in the state of TN and history is my passion! I want to share my love for this subject and to help students see the relevancy and repetition of history.

Since I began my professional journey I've been lucky to have had the opportunity to collaborate on some exciting solo and collaborative projects. I take pride in all that I do and in the long-term relationships I've fostered in the process. I firmly believe that hard work eventually pays off, and I know that each day brings me closer to reaching my goals.

I graduated from Austin Peay State University with a Bachelors of Art in Foreign Languages with the double minor in International Relations and Fine Art and in 2008 with a Masters of Arts in Teaching with a specialization in Spanish with a 4.0 GPA. I have 10 years of classroom experience ranging from grades one through eight Spanish, high school Spanish levels one through five honors, college and English as a second language to immigrants and refugees. I have worked as a medical interpreter for the state of Tennessee, a literacy coach and tutor. I grew up in Central America and am fluent in Spanish. I have studied abroad in Cuernavaca Mexico and Madrid Spain and had travel to over 40 countries. I have a passion for teaching in a manner that is relevant, meaningful and memorable.
