How can a Raleigh-Durham CFA class help me prepare?

The CFA exam is designed for individuals looking to earn their Chartered Financial Analyst credentials. The credential is granted by the CFA Institute and requires several qualifications. First, students must receive a bachelor's degree or four years of professional experience in a full-time job in the investment industry. Next, individuals must pass a series of three exams. These CFA exams are divided into three Levels; Levels I, II, and III. They must be taken in order. The CFA Institute offers all tests annually in June, as well as an extra CFA Level I Exam in December. Whether you're preparing to take Level I, II, or III, a Raleigh-Durham CFA class can help you get ready.

No matter if you're a student at a school like North Carolina Central University or a professional in the working world, a Raleigh-Durham CFA class can help you work towards your goals of earning your certification. Each candidate who sits for a CFA Program exam will either earn a "pass" or "did not pass" result. After receiving your results, you can register for the next exam. *The CFA exams cover a variety of topics. Even though the curriculum of this exam is updated every testing cycle, the program covers the same 10 topic areas. Some of these areas include alternative investments, portfolio management, quantitative methods, financial reporting and analysis, and so on. Level One of the CFA exam contains 240 multiple choice questions, which are split between two 3 hour sessions. The morning session asks 120 multiple choice questions that cover all topics, as does the afternoon session.

After passing Level I and earning your bachelor's degree, you can sit for Level II. Here, you will have a total of 120 questions to answer, which are split into item sets. The first set includes 18 vignettes, or case statements, with six questions each. Next, you must answer three vignettes with four questions each. These 21 item set questions are split into a morning session with 10 item set questions, and an afternoon session with 11 item set questions.

The last level of the CFA exam is Level III. You cannot take this final level without passing the Level II exam. Level III consists of two item sets. The first is a constructed response (essay) set, and the second is an item set with questions. The morning session features the constructed response set, where test-takers typically get between eight and 12 questions, each with several subparts. You can earn a maximum of 180 points on this portion of the exam. The afternoon section of Level III of the CFA exam includes 11 item set questions with eight vignettes that contain six questions each and three vignettes with four questions each.
