A tutor doesn't just understand those often difficult to grasp physical chemistry concepts; they also know how to help other people understand them. Physical Chemistry Tutoring review by Alysa in Miami, FL
The student studied for her science exam. We went through the study guide and she created note cards for the key terms and concepts. After creating the note cards, I quizzed the student. She did very well and was able to give examples when prompted. Next, she worked to complete the practice exam.

We did a lot of studying today. We reviewed for his forensics quiz on ballistics. He seemed to have a good grasp on the material that will likely be tested tomorrow. We then studied for his Macbeth quiz, and he was doing great! I really think he is beginning to understand what's going on and character motivations.

Physical Chemistry Tutoring review by Emily in Miami, FL
Today was an activity filled day for both me and the student. We started off the first hour preparing for her science experiments. The first was to create a habitat for an insect, and to see how they ate, what they looked like, etc. Her insect of choice were ladybugs. After creating the habitat, we also did an experiment to see what insects ate using coffee grounds, bananas, bread, apple slices, flowers, and sugar water. We left that out for observations and will write about them tomorrow. After a quick break, we continued with math and reading. We worked on more division and her reading went very well. The last hour we worked on sentences for her vocabulary words, and writing practices. We also did reading responses for Johnny Appleseed.

We did a quick review of the student's math for her quiz on Friday (quadrilaterals and other polygons primarily and some proportions with algebra) and then spent the rest of the time on her science homework in physics. She and her class did a rocket lab and we worked on creating her graph and analyzing their results.

Physical Chemistry Tutoring review by Jennifer in Miami, FL
The student and I studied for her science test tomorrow. We went over and completed her science review packet on plate tectonics, earthquakes and volcanoes. After, I created 25+ practice problems that she completed and she explained her answers to me. I also created two writing prompts and she wrote at least a paragraph answering each question. She still needs to review specific types of waves that occur in earthquakes on her own and will continue to study today for the exam tomorrow.

Physical Chemistry Tutoring review by Camilla in Miami, FL
During this session, I helped the student review and edit the write-up for a project that she has due in her science class at school. The project itself involves determining the effect of increasing the viscosity of liquid used to represent lava in a volcano model on the liquid's eruption and path. The purpose of the write-up is a preparation for laboratory reports that she will be assigned in future science classes. Therefore, I focused on ensuring that she understands the fundamentals of lab reports, including how to write a clear yet specific purpose and hypothesis, as well as the difference between qualitative and quantitative observations.
