Anyone learning Spanish may find benefits in a Phoenix Spanish course, and Varsity Tutors can get you enrolled in a course that can help you pursue your language learning goals. Whether you're a student at Hamilton High School looking for a course that can accommodate your school schedule and extracurricular activities, an Arizona State University student who might need some extra help meeting general education requirements, or someone with prior Spanish experience looking to brush up on your skills and find other speakers to practice with, a Phoenix Spanish course can be a great fit. No matter what skill level you're at, language learning can be tough and poses unique challenges that a traditional classroom isn't always totally capable of addressing. Looking for new ways to get more practice outside of the classroom can be an excellent first step towards Spanish proficiency.
Spanish can be a popular choice for those learning a second language, and for good reason. Spanish is the second most commonly spoken language on Earth, right up there with Mandarin Chinese. Spanish is a Romance language, like French and Italian, and shares some commonalities with other Romance languages, but it has also been influenced by Greek, Arabic, and Native American languages. There are more than 430 million native Spanish speakers worldwide, and Spanish is used as the official language in around 20 countries, including the majority of Central and South America. By learning Spanish, you'll be gaining access to the culture and history of a massive world population with unique cuisines, literature, and art, and you could be opening yourself up to new business opportunities too. Bilingualism can look great on a resume. Plus, Spanish is considered one of the easiest languages for English speakers to learn and can be a gateway language to other Romance languages like French.
What material will a Phoenix Spanish class help me learn?
Spanish grammar and conjugation is different than in English but tends to be simpler. Plus, as about 75% of Spanish words have Latin roots, a strong English vocabulary can help you be familiar with many Spanish words. Still, learning totally new ways to structure sentences can be a challenge. You'll have to learn the vocabulary and some new accented characters and work on your pronunciation. Spanish uses gendered nouns, which are somewhat regular: generally, nouns that end with an "o" are masculine and those that end in "a" are feminine. However, there are some exceptions to this rule, and you'll have to memorize these.
You'll also need to learn how to pair adjectives to nouns, as adjectives have to "agree" with the number and gender of the nouns they reference. So, for example, if you're talking about a plural, masculine object, and want to apply an adjective to that object, you'll have to have memorized the proper form of the adjective to fit the situation. Spanish may be considered easier than many other languages for English speakers to get to grips with, but language acquisition can be difficult for any language, and there are plenty of unfamiliar elements and unique quirks to Spanish. Even once you've gotten comfortable speaking Spanish in simple conversations, you can always put in more time to work your way towards a stronger understanding.
How will a Phoenix Spanish course help me learn all this?
A Phoenix Spanish class is taught entirely online in a virtual classroom. Here you'll see, hear, and speak with your classmates in live class sessions, practicing your written and spoken Spanish under the tutelage of an expert Spanish instructor. It can feel just like you've all gathered to speak Spanish together face-to-face, but an online class has some definite advantages. Perhaps the most importance is convenience. Your ability to learn Spanish may heavily depend on your commitment to regular practice, and as each language class will build on the skills learned in previous classes, it can be difficult to catch up if you find yourself having fallen behind. By offering you a Spanish-language environment that you can access quickly and easily from anywhere that you have access to the internet, an online class may help you ensure you can put in the time to become proficient in Spanish. You won't have to worry about how you're going to squeeze another commute into your day. Plus, online classes allow for a wider range of class times to be offered, so if you're a Red Mountain High School student, say, and you've only got time for late night or weekend classes, we can find a time to suit your needs.
You may be able to imagine the language learning benefits that regular access to a Spanish group discussion can have. Even Spanish speakers with a lot of experience can find a class that will let them use their skills and will push them to deepen their understanding. At the more advanced levels, your Spanish instructor may even choose to teach entirely in Spanish. By speaking Spanish in a mutually supportive group of language learners, you may also be able to get past any confidence barriers you might have about using your Spanish in conversation. Plus, a group class offers some serious value by giving you access to a highly-qualified instructor who has undergone a rigorous vetting process at group prices. You'll even be able to reserve one-on-one time with your Spanish teacher to get ahead on tricky subjects. All elements of a Phoenix Spanish class have been designed to offer you many avenues to pursue success.
How can I get signed up?
If you reach out to Varsity Tutors today, we can provide more information about what a Phoenix Spanish course will cover, what course times are available, and get you enrolled. Courses start on a rolling monthly basis, so there can be a new course that fits your lifestyle in the near future. Whether you're a working professional looking to expand your business opportunities to reach the large number of Spanish speakers worldwide, a college student struggling in Spanish I, or just someone with an interest in the rich culture of the Spanish-speaking world, a Spanish course can get you working towards your personal goals on a schedule that works for you.
