What are some topics that an Omaha USMLE course can cover?

The United States Medical Licensing Exam, or USMLE, is an important exam that those who are hoping to practice medicine must take. It consists of a mixture of multiple-choice questions and patient encounters, and it measures your knowledge in topics such as the nervous system and special senses, immune system, general principles of foundational science, and much more. There are three exams, otherwise known as Steps. Step Two has two parts: Clinical Skills and Clinical Knowledge.

Step One consists of 280 multiple-choice questions, and it is divided into seven 60-minute time blocks throughout the course of one day. Step Two Clinical Knowledge has 316 multiple-choice questions taken throughout eight 60-minute time blocks in one day. Step Two Clinical Skills has 15 patient encounters that allow for 15 minutes with the patient and 10 minutes to record patient notes. Finally, Step Three Day One has around 230 multiple-choice questions in six 60-minute time blocks. Day Two has approximately 180 multiple-choice questions. You will have six 45-minute time blocks. Because there are a lot of questions to get through, you will want to make sure that you have perfected your timing. Your instructor can go over all the material with you and give you practice exams to work on your timing.

To be able to take Step Three, you must pass Steps One and Two. The first two Steps can be taken in any order, but most students take Step One at the end of their second year and Step Two in their fourth year. Step Three is then taken during the first or second year of postgraduate training.

What are some advantages of taking an Omaha USMLE class?

Studying for your USMLE with the help of an expert instructor has numerous advantages over studying alone. You will receive a thorough review of the exam contents from an experienced instructor. Your instructor may teach you things such as bedside manner and how to speak to your patients in a caring and effective manner. You may also be paired off into groups to complete in-class projects which may help you learn things from a different perspective.

Working together is a great way to get a review of all of the material that you will need to know for the exam. An Omaha USMLE class will give you many chances to learn from other aspiring medical students. You can receive valuable feedback on your work from your peers and your instructor, and you can ask for clarification immediately on things that are challenging you.

Another great benefit of enrolling in an Omaha USMLE class is the convenience. You don't have to physically drive to class, fight for parking spots, or try to make your way through potential crowds to get to class because these USMLE classes are held online. You can attend class through the Live Learning Platform that includes a digital whiteboard and live chat capabilities. You will be able to see, hear, and interact with your peers and instructor as if you were sitting next to them.
