If you're currently studying to take the Praxis, you might want to consider getting in touch with Varsity Tutors and enrolling in an Oklahoma City Praxis prep course. The Praxis is an exam that you may need to take if you want to become a teacher. It will test you in a variety of areas, so it's important that you develop an intricate knowledge of it before it comes time to take the test. These courses could be particularly helpful if you're currently studying at a nearby institution such as the University of Oklahoma Jeannine Rainbolt College of Education or Oklahoma State University - Oklahoma City. Studying for the Praxis is vital, not just because it can help you prepare for the test, but also because it can equip you with many of the tools that you'll need to become an effective educator. Let's have a look at some of the ways that an Oklahoma City Praxis course can help you get ready for test day.
What topics can I review in an Oklahoma City Praxis course?
The nice thing about these courses is that you can work with an expert instructor to study the core skills in which you need to be proficient as an educator. You will need to have a strong understanding of subjects such as writing, reading, and math. The instructor can help you brush up on each of these topics. The Writing Test will look at your ability to compose both informative and argumentative pieces. You'll also be tested on ways of polishing the text and your ability to employ effective research strategies. On the Reading Test, you must look at and analyze various documents. The Mathematics Test will require you to have a solid grasp of topics like statistics, algebra, and geometry. Furthermore, you should have an understanding of pedagogy and how to properly convey information to students. The test will be administered on a computer and you will not be penalized for wrong answers.
What are the perks of getting involved in an Oklahoma City Praxis course?
We believe in providing as much convenience to busy students as possible, which is why these courses take place in an online environment. This can be a great relief if you have a packed schedule because you don't even have to leave the house if you don't want to. All you need is a steadfast internet connection and you're ready to roll. You can participate in courses from the comfort of your favorite coffee shop, the local park, or even your own bedroom! Through the power of our twenty-first-century amenities, you don't even need to worry about attending the course in a physical location.
Another useful aspect of the courses is that they allow you to work with your fellow students to answer questions and overcome challenges. You'll be able to exchange ideas and help each other with the problems that you encounter. Let's say there's a geometry question that has been posed. You might be able to help everyone get the problem started, while others might be able to continue it and clarify mathematical concepts that you're having difficulty with. Not only can this be a useful way to learn, but it can also help you build skills that can serve you well in a school setting, where teachers sometimes have to team up and assist each other.
Whenever you have questions in these courses, you don't have to suffer in silence. You can talk to an expert instructor who understands the Praxis and who can help you get clear on the concepts that you're struggling with. For example, if you're having difficulty figuring out the best way of composing material for the writing test, the instructor can give you some advice. In addition, if you have any questions about how the test is set up, this is also something the instructor can assist you with. It can be immensely helpful to talk to an expert who can show you study strategies and ways of taking the test more efficiently. Another great feature of these courses is that they allow you to set up one-on-one sessions with the instructor to review any topics that you're having difficulty wrapping your head around. This can be really helpful if you want individualized advice.

...to find the right answers. A good teacher must help students recognize their individual learning styles, discover any flaws in their foundation knowledge, set reasonable goals, and look for deeper meanings behind why a problem is best solved a certain way. Moreover, she taught me the importance of concise communication, organization and empathy when teaching. I think that not only is teaching more similar to coaching than lecturing and assigning work, but also clear presentations,...

A tutor or teacher can offer information or ideas. Cooperation with the student is required for learning to occur. I have taught in many environments from basketball coach to snowboard instructor. My education is taking me toward becoming a Math teacher. I look forward to the interactions where I can help students engage with the academic material ... Small goals and recognition of accomplishments are a useful to maintaining motivation.... Learning is rarely independent. We rely on books, teachers, tutors, and the Internet. I believe that the goal is to become a resourceful learner. When a student knows how to seek information, he or she will feel independent and empowered.

...much more to teaching than just making certain that students answer questions correctly on a test. A teacher must never lose sight of the idea that he is preparing his students to be successful no matter what endeavor they choose to pursue after graduation. Any chance I get to improve the futures of my students will be just as important to them, and to me, as learning mathematical ideas in the classroom.... Learning involves a process of acquiring knowledge by focused attention, observation, and practice, and then eventually forming, integrating, and using concepts as part of the student's full body of knowledge. Early in a child's life, a rudimentary form of learning may be accomplished through rote memorization and repetition of facts. Truly understanding a subject, however, requires a student to focus on the content and the meaning of a given subject, to isolate its essentials, to establish its relationship to what the student already knows, and to integrate it with the appropriate categories of other subjects. An education that trains a student's mind to think, therefore, would be one that teaches him to make connections, to generalize, and to understand the wider issues and principles involved in a given topic. The ideal teacher would achieve this feat by presenting the material to him in a calculated, conceptually proper order, accompanied by the necessary context, as well as the evidence that validates each new piece of information. Math is uniquely suited for demonstrating the consequences of such a theoretical approach to learning. It is my responsibility as a mathematician and math teacher not only to teach my students the concrete, factual knowledge of a geometry or calculus textbook, but also to examine with my students what this information communicates about ourselves, our world, and our culture, carefully balancing concretes and abstractions, identifying and explaining the reasoning at each point in the lesson, and preparing the students' minds for drawing connections between mathematical concepts and the world outside the classroom. Indeed, these are the processes that must first be absorbed each academic year by the student in relation to many different subjects. Upon graduation, such training will encourage an attitude of self-confidence and self-efficacy in regards to learning. My primary function and goal as an educator, therefore, is to help to instill in my students the skills and mental habits necessary for them to learn anything they want by themselves, which means, to be interested and excited about their own intellectual development.
