Benefit from a comprehensive study regimen that helps prepare you for the United States Medical Licensing Exams by letting Varsity Tutors set you up in a Nashville USMLE prep program. The USMLE is one of the most challenging assessments aspiring doctors will ever take. This in-depth test consists of multiple exams covering virtually everything learned in medical school, and students are required to pass these exams before they're permitted to practice medicine. Because of this, the USMLE is a major source of stress for a lot of students. Even those enrolled in top institutions like Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and Meharry Medical College frequently benefit from enrolling in a Nashville USMLE prep class or working privately with a tutor. You can too, with the help of an effective prep program.
What concepts will be covered during Nashville USMLE prep?
There are two USMLE prep programs you can register for: private lessons and virtual classes. While the learning experience is significantly different for both of these mediums, the content is virtually the same. Both cover everything you need to know to prepare for the license exams including at subjects like the Endocrine System, Female and Male Reproductive Systems, and Behavioral Health to name a few.
Because of the comprehensive nature of the USMLE, the assessment is broken up into three different sections called Steps. Each Step represents a different topic and, when combined, all three Steps look at the overall content you should've learned during medical school. Step 1 deals with basic sciences, and consists of multiple-choice questions that require you to apply your scientific knowledge practically in a medical context. Step 2 is broken up into two parts, Clinical Knowledge and Clinical Skills. The Clinical Skills portion is an area that many struggle with because it requires students to attend to 12 patient issues in a set amount of time. You'll be given 15 minutes to communicate with each individual patient, and an additional 10 minutes to write medical notes on each individual patient as well. If you're not already familiar with how to work in a clinical setting, this can be difficult due to the time constraints. Participating in a USMLE prep program can help with getting you ready for this portion.
Before you can begin Step 3, you need to first pass Steps 1 and 2 first. Step 3 looks at whether you have the medical knowledge necessary to work accurately and effectively in an unsupervised setting. This two-part section requires you to apply your knowledge when answering multiple-choice questions and solving computer-based simulations.
What are the benefits of the different types of Nashville USMLE prep?
The right type of prep depends on your goals, expectations, and preferred learning styles. If you're someone who enjoys working privately in a one-on-one environment, studying with a Nashville USMLE tutor is your best chance at getting ahead. One of the biggest benefits of private instruction is the personalized lessons which have been designed specifically for you, taking into account your strengths, weaknesses, and even personality. Another great benefit of private instruction is that you have the opportunity to really focus in on key areas. This means that you can build entire lessons around just a couple of concepts that's been giving you trouble, like Pregnancy, Childbirth and the Puerperium or the Nervous System and Special Senses. On the other hand, private lessons also allow you to dictate the pace and direction of every lesson which also means you can completely skip past concepts you've already learned. That way, you're able to prepare more efficiently.
If you'd prefer sticking to a prescribed study curriculum, try the Nashville USMLE prep course. These lessons are held online in a virtual classroom over our Live Learning Platform. Using video chat and virtual whiteboards, you're able to participate in interactive lectures conducted by a professional instructor. As you review important concepts, you have the opportunity to collaborate with other peers also preparing for the USMLE. Many students find this to be an effective way to study because it has you working in with other people to apply the things you learn.
How can I get set up with Nashville USMLE preparation?
Once you're ready to begin a study program, getting started is simple. All you need to do is contact Varsity Tutors, speak with an educational consultant, and ask for more information about the Nashville USMLE prep programs. They'll help you determine which program is best for you and can even get you started you in a virtual class or help you find the right tutor that works with your schedule.

I like to be creative and adapt to the learning style of a student. My goal is to make learning fun and never feel like a chore.... Adapt to what kind of learning the student best responds to; that way learning is fun and easy going, and never frustrating.... Get to know each other a bit, in order to know how to approach each topic the best way possible.... I think making different suggestions on how I taught myself, the material could bring some insight to someone in how to go about understanding the topic.
