When you need MCAT prep but aren't sure where to turn, let Varsity Tutors enroll you in a Milwaukee MCAT class that offers plenty of opportunities for learning and preparation before test day. Known formally as The Medical College Admission Test, the MCAT is a crucial stepping stone many pre-med students face once they're ready to move on to medical school.

If you're feeling nervous about exam day and wonder what you'll get tested on or how the test is structured, a Milwaukee MCAT prep course can provide you with the overview you're looking for. You'll enjoy learning in a class environment that is similar to what you'd take advantage of in a typical in-person classroom. When you take an MCAT course provided by Varsity Tutors, you'll know what to expect before the big day actually arrives.

Your overall score on the MCAT is something each medical school will consider before deciding to accept you or not. The MCAT is used by schools throughout the Milwaukee area, such as the Medical College of Wisconsin. The test is divided into four sections, with a total seated time of 7 and a half hours. You are permitted some short breaks during the test. You can earn anywhere from 118-132 points per section, with an overall exam total of 472-528 points. This test shows schools how you'll examine and react to the material presented to you at this scholarly level; therefore, it's worth your time to invest in yourself and make the most of your chance to review the test and the material on it.

What can a Milwaukee MCAT class help me review?

Chemical and Physical Foundations of Biological Systems is the first section of the test. It has 59 questions and gives you a total of 95 minutes to answer. This part of the test looks at the organ system, chemical principles in living systems, and both inorganic and organic chemistry. Physics and concepts such as chemical reactions and the periodic table are part of this section as well. You'll answer 10 question sets that are based on passages and 15 independent questions in this section.

Critical Analysis and Reasoning Skills is the next part of the exam with 53 questions and lasting 90 minutes. 9 of the question sets focus on passages, with 5-7 questions per passage. This section covers reading comprehension, verbal reasoning, and your use of analytical skills. You'll read passages from social sciences and the humanities, and use this information to apply ideas, review the basic components of the text, and assess how new information introduced affects a passage.

Next up is the Biological and Biochemical Foundations of Living Systems, with 59 questions and 95 minutes to answer them in. As in previous sections, 10 of the question sets are based on passages and 15 are independent. This section reviews biological and biochemical concepts, along with chemistry and the use of reasoning. Other concepts covered in this section include reviewing cells and organ systems, how they act independently and together, growing and reproduction, to name a few.

Finally, the Psychological, Social, and Biological Foundations of Behavior closes out the test. This section has 59 questions with 95 minutes to answer everything. 15 of the questions are independent and 10 sets are passage-based, with 4-6 questions per set. Both psychology and sociology themes are examined in this section, along with biology. Topics reviewed include mental health, social issues that are common in the field of medicine, and how social stratification affects relationships and social factors that individuals face. Access to resources and cultural differences are part of this section as well.
