Middle School Math Tutoring review by Mark in Boston, MA
In this session, we covered how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide integers and fractions. We first started with adding and subtracting integers, then multiplying and diving integers. The student knew how to solve them. He remembered the positive and negative sign rules for all of them. After practicing integer problems, we went over the fractions. He forgot a little bit of what he had to do when the denominators of adding and subtracting fractions were not the same, but was able to do them without any problems. For multiplying and dividing fractions, he had no problem solving them. The student told me that he wanted to go over probability. I gave him a few word problems on probability in which he got the correct answers. He did a great job in this session.

Middle School Math Tutoring review by Dae in Boston, MA
With Student 1, we covered some concepts from pre-algebra, largely introducing binomials and linear equations. We also worked on some practice tests from the test prep website. He is really talented with computers so incorporating online sources to the lesson has been successful. We ended the session ready to move on to Algebra 1. Student 2 and I covered fractions, decimals and percents, focusing largely on converting decimals to fractions and vice-versa. I had printed out some relevant worksheets prior to the lesson for practice, so I walked him through the first few problems in the set. He does really well with visual examples, so we used slices of pie to represent fractions and relate them to decimals and percents. We ended the lesson working on addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of fractions.
