What can I review during my time in Memphis ACT prep?
Before we discuss the preparation options that are available, let's take a moment and examine the individual sections of the exam. There are four mandatory sections of the ACT which are Math, Reading, English, and Science. Each of the mandatory sections is scored from 1 to 36. The exam as a whole receives a score from 1 to 36. The optional Writing section of the exam is scored from 2 to 12, and this score does not factor into the combined score for the exam. All questions on the mandatory sections of the exam are in multiple-choice format.

You will have a chance to display your ability to identify themes and ideas, make connections across different texts, differentiate between facts and opinions, and understand the meaning of particular words and phrases. This section contains 40 questions that you will have 35 minutes to complete.
The English section of the exam asks you to demonstrate your understanding of the structure, rules, and conventions of the English language. You must understand grammar, usage, punctuation, style, and the organization of ideas. There are 75 questions in this section, and you will have 45 minutes to answer them.
During the Science section of the ACT, you must interpret, analyze, reason effectively, and solve problems. You will encounter questions that come from the fields of biology, chemistry, physics, and more. You will work with data that is presented in a number of different formats. You must understand the scientific method, scientific procedures, and how to design experiments. You will have 35 minutes to answer the 40 questions in this section.
The Writing section takes 40 minutes to complete, during which time you will respond to one writing prompt. In this section, you will read three pieces that address a particular topic or issue.
