What does an Indianapolis USMLE class cover?
The United States Medical Licensing Exam, or the USMLE, is a test taken by individuals looking to become medically licensed professionals in the United States. Odds are, if you are a student at Indiana University School of Medicine, you are either preparing to take the USMLE, or you are between the Steps of this exam. For assistance working through your study materials, think about signing up for a class.
The USMLE is a three step examination process. Step 1 of the exam usually is taken during a medical student's second year in school. This Step includes a 280 question multiple choice exam, which is divided into seven 60 minute blocks. This is a one day test session.
Step 2 of the USMLE is broken up into two parts: Clinical Knowledge and Clinical Skills. The Clinical Knowledge portion asks 316 multiple choice questions to students, divided into eight 60 minute blocks. The Clinical Skills section provides test-takers with 12 patient cases to encounter and record. This step of the USMLE is administered at only six test centers in the United States, including Atlanta, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, and two centers in Philadelphia. It is composed of three subcomponents, communication and interpersonal skills, integrated clinical encounter, and spoken English proficiency. Most students who take Step 2 of the USMLE will do so during their fourth year of medical school.
Step 3 of the USMLE is a two day test taking experience. On the first day, students are provided with 233 multiple choice test questions divided into six 60 minute blocks, with each block containing about 40 questions. On the second day of Step 3, students must answer approximately 180 multiple choice test questions, divided into six 45 minute blocks, with each block containing around 30 questions. There are 13 computer based case simulations for students to work on, which take 10 or 20 minutes of real time. For help with any of these areas of the USMLE, you can get in touch with Varsity Tutors to enroll in an Indianapolis USMLE class.
How can I benefit from an Indianapolis USMLE class?
You can enroll in a USMLE class to enjoy interactive, online sessions. The days of watching pre-recorded lectures or reading through old textbooks are over. With the live and collaborative online classes available to students provided by Varsity Tutors, you can work with your instructor in real time. If you have a question during one of your class meetings, you can ask your instructor and receive a quick and relevant reply. Don't worry about feeling lost during your class when you can take advantage of this live platform. Not only can you communicate with your instructor during class, but you can also work with your peers. I like to be creative and adapt to the learning style of a student. My goal is to make learning fun and never feel like a chore.... Adapt to what kind of learning the student best responds to; that way learning is fun and easy going, and never frustrating.... Get to know each other a bit, in order to know how to approach each topic the best way possible.... I think making different suggestions on how I taught myself, the material could bring some insight to someone in how to go about understanding the topic.
