The rules and methods of operations for these subjects must be thoroughly learned before you may ascend to the next level of higher math. If you get through geometry without thoroughly understanding all the rules and operations, you'll have a very hard time trying to do advanced mathematical courses such as trigonometry. A professional geometry tutor in Jacksonville, FL, may teach you the study skills you need to do well in your course.

Session Summaries by Geometry Tutors

Geometry Tutoring review by Lee in Jacksonville, FL
The student's Geometry test was the very next day. She had been working on a review packet for the entire previous week. We even started it together the Thursday before. She absolutely had the right approach because she had tried to do everything on her own to the best of her ability, and then we spent our time together going over any questions she had. She had particular trouble with some of the proofs, but we went over working backwards (her teacher gives them partially completed proofs to fill in) and she seemed to like that approach better. She also had trouble with diagrams with parallel lines, when you had to draw a third or 4th parallel line between them to figure out all of the angles in the picture. I drew her several additional examples and she was good at them by the end of the session.

The student and I continued studying for his geometry final. We continued working on his review assignment and finished covering about half of the material. We also worked on his extra credit application which was on solving for angles in complex polygons using the theorems about triangles.

Today's session with the student went well. We worked on finishing up some late homework for him. He is working hard to get caught up.

Geometry Tutoring review by Samuel in Jacksonville, FL
In this session we worked largely in geometry but really focused on getting to a point where he doesn't think about the work he is doing and just does it, which I think he is getting to. We also touched a little bit on chemistry and he is doing pretty well on that.

Geometry Tutoring review by Sara in Jacksonville, FL
The student had worked on chapter 7, which focuses on area, in her geometry review this week. We spent the first hour reviewing questions she had from that chapter, particularly special right triangles. I went over the proofs of the side proportions for the 45-45-90 and 30-60-90 triangles using the Pythagorean formula. It's easier to understand the proportions and memorize and use them correctly when students know the reasoning and math behind them. She said this helped a lot. Then we worked on some practice problems from the website. We spent the last half hour reviewing some concepts from the student's Alg II class: solving multivariable equations and direct vs indirect relationships. She is going to work on the next chapter on circles for next week. Good session! We clarified some points and moved through the material well!

Geometry Tutoring review by Kyle in Jacksonville, FL
The student and I revisited vertical angles, and I introduced several new geometrical terms to memorize: the transversal, the rules and theorems of parallel/perpendicular lines, planes and alternate interior and exterior angles. We will need to revisit complementary and supplementary angles.
