How can a Geometry tutor help you?

Geometry may be one of the first times your student is exposed to independent problem solving. They will be equipped with equations about angles, area, and circumference, and then they will be expected to apply them to a variety of problems. Geometry may be about shapes and angles, but it also shows students a new way to approach problems. While this may come easy for some, for others, geometry-conducive mindsets can be hard to build. Geometry is tested on many standardized exams, such as the STAAR, so it is important that students learn this form of math. One way to help students who may be struggling to learn geometry is to have them work with a tutor. Varsity Tutors can help you find a geometry tutor in Fort Worth, Texas.

Working one-on-one with an instructor may be a rare occurrence in the classroom. With 20 or so students all needing assistance on their homework, it can be difficult for your child to get the individualized attention they need. But, with a tutor, your student can always be the center of attention. Personal Fort Worth geometry tutoring is a great way to give your student time to focus on their specific areas of concern. Your student can receive personal attention and feedback as they progress through their geometry course. This could make an impact in their understanding of the subject. Not only can they get help on daily assignments, but they may also relearn concepts in a manner that makes sense to them. No two students learn in the same way, so individualized instruction can make a difference in a student's studies.

Geometry Tutoring review by Ishita in Dallas Fort Worth, TX
Both girls were working on volume and surface area of 3D figures. The student had a test, and had a couple of problems on how to reapply concepts to more difficult problems. She just had homework, and was able to finish it pretty easily with a couple of nudges from me.

Geometry Tutoring review by Amy in Dallas Fort Worth, TX
The student has an assessment on Thursday on rational expressions and equations, and another the following Monday on area. We therefore spent much of our time reviewing the Algebra topics. The student wasn't confident on these problems before we began, but I found that he is quite good at most of the mechanics -- he primarily needed help understanding the full arc of the problems and was able to work through them well. We also took a look at some complicated area problems on a worksheet that he didn't initially understand but tackled well during our session. We concluded with a quick look ahead at the final section on area and the corresponding homework problems.

Geometry Tutoring review by Paul in Dallas Fort Worth, TX
The student and I worked through some concepts that we have already covered on Chapter 7 and 8, including sine/cosine/tangent for right triangles, the laws of sines and cosines, and angles of elevation and depression. We also filled in some sheets of notes for his retakes since he is allowed to have some notes for those. I let the student do the work on his own and he did not need my help, save for a few calculation errors on a few problems.

Geometry Tutoring review by Teresa in Dallas Fort Worth, TX
Today we focused mainly on preparing for the student's quiz that she has tomorrow, practicing surface area, and working mostly on the harder prisms. The student has made a lot of progress in her understanding of the concepts. We also worked on volume as this was the new material presented in class today. She had no problems with this.

The student had a test the following day on arcs and chords. We did practice problems from each section, going over any questions she had. We then did the Chapter Review and Chapter Test together. She seemed to have a firm grasp of the material.

Geometry Tutoring review by Ashley in Dallas Fort Worth, TX
The student and I worked over her homework which focused on finding the surface and lateral area of 3-D shapes. The student really had no issues at all working through her homework, and really did most of the work on her own with me there to check her answers. She has shown amazing progress since we started working together.
