French Tutoring review by Erin in Apple Valley, MN
Today the student and I continued working through his review packet for his French exam this Thursday. We reviewed vocabulary, articles, adjective agreement, -er verbs, facts about France, and how to talk about the weather. He isn't struggling with any topic. He is very hardworking and detail oriented, so he wants a lot of feedback and practice. His most challenging areas are still pronunciation and understanding spoken French, but he has made great improvement on these in recent weeks. I left him with a few worksheets about the weather, dates, money, and French holidays. He also has several sets of flashcards that we made together during the session. I am very proud of his work ethic and commitment to French. It makes me so happy to see that he enjoys French now!

We had our first session since the Thanksgiving break, and the student had some vocabulary and verbs to go over. She continues to improve her memorization skills and can identify patterns in the conjugation of irregular verbs.

French Tutoring review by Audrey in Apple Valley, MN
We reviewed for a test she will take tomorrow. She had to practice the possessive adjectives, the verbs ending in "er," and in particular, the verbs ending with "ger" and "cer," the vocabulary about family, and the feminine and plural of the adjectives. I made her practice by translating sentences to French using all this grammar structures. She still makes some mistakes with the possessives and the feminine of the adjectives, but she masters the conjugation. I am pretty sure she will have a very good grade if she focuses and reviews what we did today.

French Tutoring review by Anna in Apple Valley, MN
We reviewed for an upcoming test on reflexive verbs and their conjugations. We went over present, passe compose, imperative, and infinitive. I reminded the student that, when you're addressing someone, you're going to use the imperative, and that, if there is already a conjugated verb in a clause, it is likely that your reflexive verb will be an infinitive. She should make sure she double-checks all of her answers to ensure that all of her conjugations and pronouns agree.

We reviewed for the student's test on Thursday, going over verb conjugations for -re and irregular -ir verbs. We went through her practice test and did problems related to food vocab and the imperative conjugation. The student has improved in the verb conjugations, but she has some trouble with the imperative. She should review additional material for her test Thursday, including online sources and textbook problems.
