After having previous extensive opportunities to teach and tutor a variety of subjects, I believe it is extremely important to ensure the success of the learner. I know that everyone learns differently, and that the most important part of teaching is the one on one time offered through tutoring to individualize the teaching of any subject.

Ecology Tutoring FAQ
The study of ecology involves learning the complex and interrelated systems that make up the natural world. It also incorporates examining nature through a variety of lenses of differing specificity. For instance, consider nitrogen. Learning about nitrogen in an ecology class might entail learning about the nitrogen cycle, a complex set of relationships without which life on Earth wouldn't be possible, or it might involve studying the specific molecular structures of the different compounds in which nitrogen naturally exists in this cycle, or even the characteristics and importance of nitrogen-fixing bacteria. Ecology invites students not only to gain knowledge at a variety of scales and perspectives, but also to integrate what is learned from these different levels into a comprehensive picture.
If you're having trouble with any of the concepts being covered in the ecology portion of your science classes, or you are preparing for a standardized test like AP Environmental Science, Varsity Tutors can help you connect with customized ecology tutoring to put you on the path to mastering this fascinating and important branch of biology. Ecology tutors are experienced in the field and have the communication skills that set them apart as excellent instructors. After all, even if you're working with an expert, if he or she can't explain concepts clearly and concisely, it's going to make it difficult for you to learn anything! While each tutor is excellent, the educational directors at Varsity Tutors work to help you select the tutor whose skills and personality make him or her the best match for addressing your particular academic profile. Once you select a tutor, you can schedule your ecology tutoring sessions to take place wherever and whenever best suits you. Want to meet at the library on weekends, or at your home on Thursday mornings? Tutors are adaptable and prioritize making sessions as convenient as possible for you. Tutors are also available for face-to-face online sessions using our live learning platform.
In your first session, your tutor can begin to take stock of your level of familiarity with ecology, the concepts and topics that you understand and those that confuse you, your preferred learning style, and your specific goals for the subject. He or she can use this information in designing a learning plan to meet your specific needs. This means that you can work on just the topics that you want to focus on, at whatever pace you find most comfortable. This one-on-one approach makes tutoring both personalized and effective. By having the ability to ask questions, you can be confident that no element of ecology that you're struggling with will be overlooked. Having difficulty understanding the basics of biodiversity? Are you still unclear on the differences between commensalism, mutualism, and parasitism? No matter what you struggle with, you can ask your ecology tutor for help and they will be there to assist you with concrete definitions, examples, and resources. They will ensure that you understand the fundamental elements of ecology before you move on to the more complex branches of the subject.
The subject of ecology can be difficult. It isn't always easy to understand the complex, interconnected web that exists in the natural world. The connection between predation, global warming, and invasive species may not be obvious to some people. That's what an ecology tutor is there for. With the help of an experienced, knowledgeable tutor, anyone can overcome their learning obstacles and master the subject. Call the Varsity Tutors educational directors in your area today for more information about how you can be connected with an ecology tutor, and how ecology tutoring can help you gain the knowledge that you need to meet your goals!

Recent Ecology Tutoring Session Notes
During our most recent session, the student and I worked on a project. The goal of the project was to outline the main classes of archaebacteria and to determine the characteristics of each class. Our session involved a lot of research in order to identify the various classes and how they differ with respect to each other. His work was very structured and I'm sure he gave an excellent presentation.
Today we started reviewing taxonomy and organism classification. We also went over the structure of a virus and the different parts of it, including the lytic and lysogenic cycles.
We started the session with a discussion of the study materials available prior to Thursday's exam. The student mentioned that he had begun looking over the study guide and that he understood many of the concepts. We then moved on to cover any material that he had not yet reviewed on each of the Problem Sets. Since we covered Problem Set #8 during the last session, we quickly reviewed the material on Problem Set #7. These topics included the semi-conservative hypothesis of DNA replication, the various enzymes involved in DNA replication, including helicase, topoisomerase, DNA polymerase I and III, primase, ligase, and telomerase. I was able to share a useful video tutorial that explored the role of the last three enzymes. The student had a good understanding of these concepts, based on his current review and his recollection from AP Biology. We then moved on to Problem Set #9.
Met with student. Went over grades in all subjects. Concentrated on Biology for a test tomorrow. Taught student test relaxation method of deep breath and slow exhale. Told him not to rush. Also to allot time to answer each question.
The student worked on Biology homework over ecosystems and biodiversity. Then we worked on practice problems in Geometry regarding area and perimeter of triangles and parallelograms.
After getting to know his needs, schedule, and what he needed help with, we started on the first chapter that deals with ecosystem and half about half way done. The student is struggling with the terms and concepts of biology. Being that he is an exchange student, vocabulary is his big problem. I have created a good way and method to get him learn terms, vocabulary and get introduced to terms. No immediate concern. He is a smart student and I'm looking forward to working with him and get him from failing the class to better grades.
