What topics can I review during Detroit SIE prep?
The SIE (Securities Industry Essentials) Exam is a standardized test administered by FINRA (Financial Industry Regulatory Authority) as an introduction to the financial industry. It evaluates a student's knowledge of financial products and their risks, financial regulatory authorities, and prohibited practices. While you must pass the SIE (with a score of at least 70) in order to earn a securities training license, you also need to pass a qualification test such as the Series 22 or Series 7 before you can begin working as a licensed securities professional.
The test itself consists of 75 multiple-choice questions that you have an hour and 45 minutes to answer. FINRA is notorious for writing intentionally misleading questions, so your instructor may provide practice questions to give you an idea of what to look out for. While you must be registered with a FINRA-accredited firm in order to take a qualification exam, the SIE is open to anyone. Therefore, you can take it while you're still attending a local college such as the University of Detroit.
What are some of the benefits of formal Detroit SIE prep?
Varsity Tutors can either enroll you in an online Detroit SIE prep course or find you a private instructor to help you reach for your potential. If you choose a course, you'll meet with a knowledgeable instructor and other dedicated students on our exclusive Live Learning Platform. Every instructor undergoes a thorough vetting process, so you can trust that you'll be working with up-to-date materials and information.
Our proprietary platform also allows you to see and hear your classmates as if you were in the same room, providing the same benefits as an in-person class without the hassle of a commute. While you might not think talking to your peers would be productive, many students find that they learn more effectively in a collaborative learning environment. If you're having a hard time with the different types of markets or the intricacies of REITs, one of your new friends may be able to explain it in more relatable terms. Studying in a group also gives you great value for your money, as you receive the benefit of working with an expert instructor while only paying a fraction of the cost.
If you would prefer to study at your own pace, working with a private instructor may be a better fit for you. We can refer you to an educator who can work with you online through our Live Learning Platform, allowing you to leverage powerful features such as video chat and a virtual whiteboard for the most convenient face-to-face study experience possible. Why waste time sitting in traffic when you can meet your instructor on your favorite mobile device?
A private instructor can also design study sessions around your unique learning style. If you're an auditory learner, your sessions can take on a discussion format to make it easier for key concepts to stick in your mind. If you're more of a visual person, your instructor can instead provide charts to help illustrate important topics such as the risks and benefits of mutual funds for you. There is no universally correct way to study, so why not do so in a way that makes sense for you?
We also strive to make all of our products as convenient as possible. For example, we offer multiple online classes concurrently, including two and four-week options to help you find a match for your busy lifestyle. Similarly, we always do our best to match students with private instructors who can accommodate their scheduling needs, so you don't need to rearrange your entire life just to study for a test.
