What skills or content can be covered in a Dayton MCAT course to help me prepare for the exam?
The MCAT has a total of 230 questions which you must finish within six hours and 15 minutes, not including breaks. There are four separate sections on the MCAT, each containing up to 59 questions and having a time limit of between 90 and 95 minutes. The first section contains 59 questions on Chemical and Physical Foundations of Biological Systems. This section gives you 95 minutes to demonstrate your knowledge of the function of the different parts of human anatomy and how the different systems of the human body relate to the laws of physics.
The next section assesses a student's Critical Analysis and Reasoning Skills with 53 question and a time limit of 90 minutes. In this portion of the MCAT, you have the opportunity to showcase your reading comprehension skills as well as your verbal reasoning and analytical skills. Answers to the questions in the section come directly from the provided passages, which cover a variety of topics from the social sciences or humanities.
The Biological and Biochemical Foundations of Living Systems section contains 59 questions and also has a time limit of 95 minutes. This portion of the MCAT evaluates your knowledge of the processes unique to living organisms as well as your scientific inquiry and reasoning skills. you will need to be able to understand how organ systems and cells within organisms work independently and together to finish processes such as growth or reproduction.
The Psychological, Social, and Biological Foundations of Behavior assessment is your opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge of mental health issues. You will need to answer 59 questions about how behavior can impact health within 95 minutes.
