Whether you are a student at the University at Buffalo or you simply need a refresher course before you take the SIE Exam, Varsity Tutors can set you up with the Buffalo SIE prep that best suits your needs and your learning style. The SIE Exam is required of anybody who wishes to become a securities industry professional, and preparing for it on your own can be a challenge. That is why anybody can benefit from enrolling in a Buffalo SIE prep class or finding a Buffalo SIE tutor that works best for them.
What Topics Are Covered by Buffalo SIE Prep?
The SIE (or Securities Industry Essentials) Exam is taken by prospective securities industry professionals. Also known simply as the Essentials Exam, the SIE Exam covers concepts and ideas that are important for anybody to learn if they wish to work in the securities industry. Some of these topics include the types of products you are likely to work with, how different regulatory agencies work, and prohibited activities. It is important to note that passing the SIE Exam is only one step in becoming registered with a FINRA member firm and being able to engage in the securities business. In order to become registered, to engage in the industry, you must also pass a qualification exam appropriate for the type of business you wish to engage in.
The SIE Exam itself is a multiple choice exam. You will have 1 hour and 45 minutes to answer 75 questions. You will need to correctly answer at least 70 percent of the questions to earn a passing score. Some of the topics that may be covered in the exam include types of markets, business economic factors, international economic factors, investment returns, corporate actions, orders and strategies, and prohibited activities. A Buffalo SIE preparation course or individual instruction can cover these topics and otherwise help you prepare for the exam.
What are the Advantages of Each Type of Buffalo SIE Prep?
Varsity Tutors can set you up with two different types of Buffalo SIE Prep. The first is an SIE prep course with other students, and the second involves tutoring sessions with a private instructor. Each option has its advantages, and some students opt for both of them, but most will choose one or the other. If you enroll in a Buffalo SIE prep course, you will be placed in a virtual classroom with other students who are also preparing for the SIE Exam. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with them as you all study the course material, which will allow you to receive assistance if you are having trouble understanding certain concepts as well as provide assistance to others. You might even learn about some concepts that might otherwise fly under your radar if you were to study the material on your own. If you need extra help, you can also contact your instructor for some one-on-one instruction as well.
One of the biggest benefits of enrolling in a Buffalo SIE prep class is that the classes are all online. As long as you have a stable Internet connection, you will be able to attend class from anywhere. You will still need to adhere to a schedule if you want to get the most out of the class, but not having to commute to a physical classroom makes the classes themselves far more convenient. New sessions open up regularly, so you will be able to find an online Buffalo SIE prep class that works for you when you are ready to enroll.
If you would rather receive private instruction as you prepare for your SIE Exam, we can also set you up with a Buffalo SIE tutor. Much like the online courses, these private instructors will be able to communicate with you online when it is most convenient for you. They will also allow you to work at a pace with which you are comfortable and tailor their lessons to your own learning style. This can allow you to focus on the areas where you need the most improvement with the help of someone who will give you their undivided attention.
How Do I Get Started with Buffalo SIE Preparation?
Whether you decide to enroll in a Buffalo SIE prep course or seek out a private instructor, Varsity Tutors will be able to help you find the solution that works for you. To learn more about how to get started, contact us today. We will be more than happy to answer your questions.
