Session Summaries by Anatomy Tutors

Anatomy Tutoring review by Joseph in Sacramento, CA
We covered the difference between meiosis and mitosis today. I left her with extra homework that will hopefully reinforce the concepts, which we will go over next session. I also tested her on vocabulary today and left her to go over her notes in order to prepare for a unit test I will give her when we come back.

The topics covered during the session were Diffusion, Respiratory System and Circulatory System . We went over sample questions, and reviewed the study sheet provided by the teacher. I tested the student, and she answered all of the questions right by the end of the session. I ensured that she had understanding and knowledge of all some of the small information gaps, in order to be completely prepared for the test.

Today's session focused on preparing for upcoming Biology and Algebra exams. The student and I went through photosynthesis, cellular respiration, and mitosis and drew each step out on the whiteboard. We also went over graphing and discussed why we need to graph data, what constitutes a linear line vs. a non-linear line, and relationships between numbers. At the end of this session I felt that the student was better prepared for his exams.

Muscles of the arm and forearm. The exam was more of a practical application so I gave the student some advice on altering his studying. I strongly suggest that he makes flash cards for the origins and insertions of the muscles and spend more time with the material.

Anatomy Tutoring review by Marline in Sacramento, CA
We first went through inequality proofs in his geometry. He was a little confused and I had a hard time explaining it all to him but i think he got it in the end. We then went through diffusion in the Biology. We spent the time going through simple diffusion, osmosis, facilitated diffusion, and active transport. I gave him a short quiz after to check his understanding an he got everything correct. He picks up quickly.
