Tutoring review by Erica in Michigan Center, MI
The student and I continued to work on addition and subtraction of decimals, paying special attention to subtracting from numbers that end in 0 (ex: 17.00-.19). At the end of the session, she and I continued our multiplication competition, and she was able to answer one more multiplication problems in a minute than she did last week. Next week, we'll review decimals once more and then move into adding and subtracting integers, so that she can keep up with her class syllabus.

Tutoring review by Joshua in Michigan Center, MI
The student and I went over the triangle inequality theorem and applied it to determine whether given sides could make a triangle or not. We also found missing angles in complex geometric shapes, which he approached very systematically. He learned that after 180 degrees, an extra side added to a polygon means there is another 180 degrees added to the total degrees in the polygon. Finally, we went over the Pythagorean theorem. The student was introduced to a few new equations and he's still getting used to numbers presented in a radical form. He just needs a little practice.
