Tutoring review by Samuel in Glendale, WI
This session focused on establishing a schedule, discussing what goals and tutoring style will be used, as well as some review of the definite integral between 2 curves and integration by parts. I advised the student to write an answer for any problems she did not have time to get to whenever taking an exam. I also provided her a detailed explanation of integration by parts. We will be meeting 2 times a weekend beginning next weekend, with the first session reviewing material that had been covered and the second session looking forward if enough progress on the previous week's material had been made.

Today we worked on defining piecewise functions. As a review we did some line graphing, and then applied this to graphing inequalities. We were working toward doing maximizing and minimizing functions in regions bounded by those inequalities.

Tutoring review by Allison in Glendale, WI
Together we completed the student's test review for her upcoming test. She seems to understand the concepts fairly well. It is important that she is familiar with the transformation equations, as well as distance and midpoint formula. Her ability to visualize the answer is a great advantage to her if she follows that up with a mathematical computation. Like I said before, I am very impressed by her ability to visualize solutions!! She seems to be a very self-motivated student and is a wonderful student to tutor.

Tutoring review by Andrea in Glendale, WI
Student 1 worked mostly independently, with a few pointers and check ins from me, on a special project from school. He worked on creating an outline and script for a fictional news report about a scene from the book he's currently reading. Student 2 had an editing project where we went sentence by sentence, analyzing where there were redundancies. We also had a lot of work on where to put commas. She will continue to work on analyzing dependent vs independent clauses and knowing when to separate them with commas.

Tutoring review by Rachel in Glendale, WI
In today's session we did some more test prep, as the student has a test tomorrow. We went over factoring, dividing polynomials, and the rational zero theorem. It was the same information as yesterday's session, but she was already much more comfortable, especially with dividing polynomials. She is willing to put in the effort and catches on quickly once things are broken down step by step.
