We spent most of the time completing his 6-page essay for history, documenting the lives of the people of Augusta and Franklin counties during the 1850s through the 1870s. Specifically, he had to answer the question: To what extent did the Irish form distinct communities and assimilate in these counties? The student persisted through and was able to research everything related to the Irish and these two counties, reading newspaper articles from this era, census records, war records, church records, and many other articles. He did an excellent job!

Tutoring review by Alexander in Cedarburg, WI
Today, the student and I looked at math and reading comprehension. He is a very capable math student with no visible weaknesses that I could find in the material covered. He occasionally makes small mistakes but almost immediately catches them when we go over answers, suggesting that he would be wise to give his answer sheet a brief look over before submitting come test day. He is also an impressive reader and shouldn't have much trouble with that section come test day.

The student and I worked on graphing cube root functions from a given equation and practiced deriving inverse functions of a given equation. We practiced and went over the four strategies she can use to solve for inverse functions and practiced those methods. She is showing proficiency in inverse functions and cube root functions. I believe consistent practice on her own will build fluency in the skill set.
