What am I able to study in Tampa GMAT prep?

There are four main parts of the GMAT. These sections are Quantitative Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning, Integrated Reasoning, and the Analytical Writing Assessment. You are able to arrange these sections in one of three ways to customize your test-taking experience. To give you a better idea of what to expect on the GMAT, below is an overview of the content and layout of these sections.

The Quantitative Reasoning section of the GMAT consists of 31 multiple-choice questions that are based around objective data. You will have 62 minutes to complete the questions. In this section, you must use logic and mathematical reasoning to solve the problems you encounter. This will demonstrate your understanding of logical reasoning, data analysis, and the ability to apply math to real-world problems. On some questions, you may need to determine whether there is enough data for you to answer the question at all. The Quantitative Reasoning section and the Verbal Reasoning section are both scored from 0 to 60, but scores outside of the 6 to 51 range are rare.

The Verbal Reasoning section asks you to apply your knowledge of logical relationships and critical reasoning to questions that are based around written data. There are 36 multiple-choice questions in this section. In the 65 minutes allocated, you will encounter problems that ask you to answer questions about passages of text, draw inferences, and evaluate the quality of arguments.

Unlike the Verbal Reasoning and Quantitative Reasoning sections where you work with one type of data for the whole section, during the Integrated Reasoning section, you will examine data from graphs, tables, numbers, and text. This requires that you utilize a variety of techniques to solve problems and synthesize data. By integrating data across a variety of data sources, you should be able to solve complicated problems. This section contains 12 questions that you'll have 30 minutes to complete. Scores for this section range from 1 to 8.

During the Analytical Writing Assessment, you must demonstrate your understanding of effective argumentation. You will read a passage that is provided on the exam and analyze it. You will then write a response of your own, detailing the strong and weak points of the provided argument. By using evidence from the original piece, you must demonstrate your ability to evaluate an argument, structure your own argument, and write effectively. This section takes half an hour to complete, and your score can range from 0 to 6.

How can Tampa GMAT prep help me review for this exam?

Depending on your needs, you can choose between two main paths for your GMAT preparation. You can work with a Tampa GMAT tutor to develop your skills in a one-on-one environment. Or, if you prefer, you can attend a Tampa GMAT prep course and learn in a collaborative group environment.

In a Tampa GMAT prep class, you will meet with your instructor and other students in a live virtual classroom. You are able to hear lectures, discuss with your classmates, and ask questions of your instructor. Because you can interact in real-time with your peers and instructor, you are able to see the material from several different perspectives, which can help you to internalize what you are learning. All of the instructors for these classes know the content of the GMAT well and are able to communicate the ideas clearly. If you need extra help from your instructor, you can schedule a time to meet with them outside of the classroom environment.

There are new sessions of Tampa GMAT classes that start every week so you can get started on your preparation whenever works best for you. You can choose between two- and four-week sessions depending on your scheduling needs. Because all sessions take place online, it is easier than ever to attend a class. You can attend class during your lunch break, at your home over the weekend, or at your favorite coffee shop after work.

During a session with a Tampa GMAT tutor, you can adapt the time you spend together to meet your educational needs. You are able to make a plan for your sessions that is based on your goals, abilities, and learning style. Whether you want to study a broad or narrow group of topics, you and your mentor can make it happen. Your instructor is able to seek out materials that appeal to your learning style as well. This can help you to absorb and retain information. Additionally, you and your academic mentor can discuss test-taking strategies and other ways of helping you maximize your time during the exam. The interactions you have with your instructor can help you to develop effective study habits and increase your confidence as you approach the exam.
