Study Skills and Organization Tutoring review by Chad in Richmond, VA
The student has back-to-back projects and exams this week. We decided to focus the session on his biology project and presentation, as well as his midterm and upcoming biology evaluation. The student chose physiology as the topic of interest for his presentation. We did quite a bit of research on the nature of physiology as a discipline, branch of knowledge, and profession. We mused on football protective gear and performance enhancing clothing lines as immediate examples of how physiology impacts our culture. I took many notes during our investigation and brainstorming session and will forward my notes to him this evening. The latter quarter of our session was dedicated to formulating a study plan for the student to use in preparing for his Biology retest and midterm. We concluded our time together by going over some Biology note cards.

The first student completed her science and math worksheet. The second student had already completed his math worksheet over angles when I got to him, so he worked on completing his online practice. He had no problem understanding angles, and we even got a chance to go a little further and talk about how all triangles equal 180 degrees.

He did not have any homework today as they are doing standardized testing at his school. So we discussed his progress in depth and how he has improved since our first session. He is ready to move on and succeed by himself, though I think we will continue working until summer break to ensure continued good habits.

Study Skills and Organization Tutoring review by Bishoy in Richmond, VA
He had finished notes on Key Issue #2 so I quizzed him on those points and went back over Key Issue #1 notes as well. We talked about fine-tuning aspects of the note-taking like choosing which supportive details to include. I confirmed that he's still on the study schedule we came up with together last time we met. The time left was spent with him getting ahead on taking notes for Key Issue #3 and me quizzing him on what he wrote. No concerns or issues.

Study Skills and Organization Tutoring review by William in Richmond, VA
The student has been progressing greatly during our short time together. When I arrive, he already has his study materials ready and organized, which is a big key to our success. He has lots of tasks this week - two tests on Friday, and a quiz on Wednesday - all of which we studied for this session. We made flash cards for his vocabulary quiz first. I made him use the vocabulary words in a sentence, which was difficult for him at first, but he got better at it. Next, we completed his Math homework. And lastly, we filled out difficult portions of his Social Studies study-guide about the Reconstruction period in Georgia - interesting stuff!
