Science Tutoring review by Mary Heather in Austin, TX
This is for a session on Tuesday, 5/21. Did not review for English final as it was an in-class essay. Spent the whole time working on science: oceanography, geology and ecology. I reviewed some notes I took from my own science textbooks, then went over a 200 question review sheet that involved matching, multiple choice, true and false, and completion. I added details as we went along. There was no textbook to refer to during this review.

We went over the old quizzes and tests regarding tectonic plates and climate change and earthquakes. She knows the stuff basically inside and out.

We finished the student's foldable for science and worked on an essay, repairing some of the grammatical errors. He makes small, fixable errors--run-on sentences, fragments, etc. As he continues to read and absorb grammatical structure through example, as well as through correction, these problems will disappear.
