You may be looking for additional assistance as you prepare for the GRE. Going it alone can be difficult, especially if you are an undergraduate student or a full-time working professional. Your study time is rare, so make the most of the time you do have by signing up for a Pittsburgh GRE class. The classes that Varsity Tutors can connect you with are online, interactive, and flexible. There are classes during the days, evenings, and weekends, so you can enroll in a class that works best with your schedule, and you can choose classes that last for two weeks or four weeks. It's easy to pick the class schedule that is most accommodating to your needs. New classes start on a weekly basis, so you can jump in right away to get started with your GRE study sessions.
What can a Pittsburgh GRE course help me learn?
When it comes to the GRE, there are three sections that measure a student's abilities in a range of academic areas. When you sign up for a Pittsburgh GRE prep course, you are signing up for a course that can help you navigate through all of the content areas. This can help to increase your confidence and become a more well-rounded student.
The first section of the GRE is the Analytical Writing section. This section features two tasks: analyzing an issue and analyzing an argument. Students are given 30 minutes to complete each section. If you are the type of test-taker who struggles to pace themselves, you can work on these skills in your GRE class. Enroll in a class right away to start learning how to prepare for the Analytical Writing section, as well as how to pace yourself through this timed test.
The Analytical Writing section of the GRE is scored on a scale of zero to six, with a six being the highest possible score. This score reflects a student's abilities to articulate complex concepts, support their ideas with examples and reasoning, examine claims, maintain a focused and coherent discussion, and command the English language through the written word.
The second section of the GRE is the Verbal Reasoning section. This portion of the exam includes two sections of 20 questions. Test-takers are given 60 minutes to complete these two parts. The Verbal Reasoning section is scored on a scale of 130 to 170. You may want to enroll in an online GRE course to learn how to answer the reading comprehension, text completion, and sentence equivalence questions in the most efficient way possible. By participating in a GRE course, you can increase your understanding of summarizing passages, analyzing texts, evaluating passages, and reasoning about the whole when you only receive parts.
The final portion of the GRE is the Quantitative Reasoning section. The Quantitative Reasoning section includes two parts, which contain 20 questions each. This part of the exam takes 1 hour and 10 minutes to complete. It is also scored on a scale of 130 to 170. The Quantitative Reasoning section looks at a test-taker's ability to understand basic math skills, math concepts, and logical reasoning. To prepare for this section, your GRE class may review arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and data analysis.
Individuals who are getting ready to take the GRE should know that their exam may feature an Experimental section or a Research section. Both sections are unscored and used only to test questions for potential future use. The Experimental section is unmarked and added to the Verbal or Quantitative Reasoning sections. The Research section is marked, comes at the end of the exam, and is optional.
How can a Pittsburgh GRE class help me prepare?
Preparing for the GRE alone can be difficult, which is why enrolling in a GRE class can be so beneficial. When you sign up for a GRE class, you are signing up for live and interactive online classes made to cover all the bases of the GRE. During your sessions, you can interact in real time with your instructor and your peers. If you have any questions that come up during your class sessions, you can receive an answer right away. Take advantage of these resources to increase your confidence as your test date approaches.
The skills you learn in a Pittsburgh GRE class can be carried with you throughout your educational career. In your class, you can learn about test-taking skills that can help you pace yourself through exams, make educated questions on questions, and feel more relaxed during your test. You can also learn beneficial information that applies to your graduate school studies. The GRE covers a wide range of information, some of which you may revisit during your time at graduate school.

As an experienced tutor, I am confident in my ability to help students improve their understanding of literature, their writing, and their standardized test scores.... My teaching philosophy focuses on the importance of adopting multiple teaching strategies. An innovative, flexible approach allows me to help a wide variety of students.... In a typical first session, I talk with a student to evaluate her goals, her areas of concern, and her personal strengths.... My students become independent learners because I help guide them on strategies for helping themselves. I never do the work for my students. Instead, I guide them through their work in order to teach them how to complete future work on their own.
