Varsity Tutors is offering a Milwaukee SIE Prep course online! If you are a finance student studying at a school like Marquette University or an aspiring securities industry professional, chances are you'll be looking to take the Security Industry Essentials (SIE) Exam sometime soon. Passing the SIE is meant to be the first step to becoming registered with a member firm of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA.) After passing the SIE, an individual may have to complete another qualification test depending on which type of firm they are choosing to work with.
The SIE test is administered by FINRA. It is open to anyone 18 and older who is looking to get into the securities industry. The test participants are allowed to be already working with a member firm, but partnering with a firm is not necessary to take the test. The SIE is primarily focused on four different topic areas including: Knowledge of Capital Markets, Understanding Trading/Customer Accounts/Prohibited Activities, Understanding Products and Their Risks, and an Overview of Regulatory Framework. The test requires a 70% correct of the 75 questions to pass. Enrolling in a Milwaukee SIE course allows students to prepare for the test with an expert teacher in an online classroom.
What will be covered in the Milwaukee SIE class?
Because we understand that everyone learns and refreshes at different paces, the class is offered in two-week or four-week formats that students can decide on when signing up. The class will cover material that could be found on the SIE as well as test-taking strategies. Students will interact with the instructor and their classmates over the internet. The class may discuss topics like Hedge Funds, Business Economic Factors, or Debt Instruments. The instructor may also help the students to memorize vocabulary. In the online environment, there will be an interactive whiteboard. This allows for student collaboration and educator comments. There could be interactive group projects focusing on Corporate Actions or Exchange-traded Products. Students may see practice questions they can work through together. Studies show that when students are able to teach their peers a concept, they are better able to understand the concept themselves.
Milwaukee SIE course instructors could do exercises to determine what type of test taker you are and offer strategies to best help you do well. The SIE is held over 1 hour and 45 minutes. Perhaps you are worried about running out of time. During a class, your instructor may help you by teaching you how to time out practice questions. The teacher may also teach you how to identify key words in the question. This might help you by teaching you how to eliminate wrong answers quicker. If you ever get to a point where you would like more practice questions or more material on a topic, you can request an online meeting with the instructor. They could be able to help you dive deeper into the material so you can get a better understanding.
What are the advantages of taking the Milwaukee SIE course?
With our online course, you are free to learn wherever you feel most comfortable. Maybe you'd like to lounge by the Lake Michigan shoreline or in the Milwaukee Public Library. As emerging professionals, you probably have a busy schedule. For this reason, we have multiple time slots to choose for your online class. You could learn in the morning, during lunch, or right before bed. There are 75 questions on the SIE exam ranging on a variety of topics. By enrolling in a test prep course, you can avoid feeling overwhelmed by cramming the diverse material. Instead, you'll be able to gradually work through it step by step over two or four weeks in a helpful class environment.
