My name is Brittni, and I am excited to help you with your tutoring needs! I have several years of private and professional experience in assisting children of all grade levels, largely in math, science, and literacy, as well as having homeschooled my own three children. I have an Associate's in Social Work, coursework in early childhood development and education, and I am finishing my Bachelor's in Sociology and Anthropology this Fall. All children have the right to learn and to succeed.
I graduated from St. Petersburg College with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, (K-6), with an ESOL endorsement. I have taught kindergarten, first, second, and fifth grades. I was the team leader for fifth grade along with being in charge of the Multicultural Club at the school. I have been fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to teach students living in poverty, ESE students, and ELL students. This has provided me the opportunity to challenge myself to meet a variety of needs. I have always strongly felt that it is my responsibility as a tutor/teacher to reach a child wherever they are, both academically and emotionally. My favorite thing about being a teacher is getting to watch the spark that occurs when a child that has been struggling begins to grasp the concept and starts to believe in themselves and their abilities.
As a dedicated ESE teacher with a Bachelor's in Exceptional Student Education, I have over 2 years of tutoring experience and more than 14 years in the classroom. I have extensive experience supporting diverse students through engaging, systematic instruction tailored to their individual needs. I bring proven expertise in reading intervention methods, including Orton-Gillingham's multisensory approach, as well as math instruction for elementary students. My goal is to create a positive motivating environment where students feel supported, challenged and excited to learn,
I currently hold a Bachelor of Science for Secondary Mathematics Education (grades 6-12). I was a teacher for 6 years but have been tutoring privately for about 15 years, on and off. I've taught the following courses: basic math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra I Honors, Geometry Honors, Algebra II Honors, Pre-Calculus and Trigonometry Honors (combined course), as well as AP Calculus AB. My varied teaching experience has given me a good perspective of how different students learn and how to accommodate each student's individual needs. My goal is to help students experience success in the math classroom by helping to strengthen their skills and get a better understanding of concepts. Most importantly, I intend to help increase their confidence to promote a positive attitude towards the subject.
I am a Certified Registered Dental Hygienist and took the National Board of Dental Hygiene Exam in March 2023. I passed all of my licensing exams on my first attempt along with graduating top of my class at my Dental Hygiene Program. I obtained my Bachelor's Degree in Dental Hygiene with a concentration in Education as well as a Master of Science is Health Education and Behavior from the University of Florida. Studying for any of the Dental Hygiene Licensing Exam is very hard, stressful, and time-consuming. I want to help prepare students to have a better approach to studying and where to start, along with making a fun learning environment in order to truly remember and grasp a concept. I am very passionate about helping those going through this difficult time of studying for the NBDHE or any other licensing exam.
