I love to help students see math as a serious of puzzles or patterns that lead them to that 'AHA!' moment when they truly understand what is going on! I have been a math teacher for the past five years, teaching courses such as Geometry, Trigonometry, Statistics and Probability, Algebra 2, Algebra 3, Introduction to College Algebra, and College Algebra. I was also a Teacher's Assistant for Calculus in College. I graduated summa cum laude from Saint John's University with a major in Mathematics and a minor in Secondary Education. While teaching, I also attended Southwest Minnesota State University, obtaining a Masters of Science in Education, Learning, and Leadership along with an additional 18-credit emphasis in Mathematics. My favorite subject to tutor is Statistics because it is so applicable to anyone's favorite interests. My tutoring philosophy is to connect new material to a student's prior learning. The beauty of math is that it builds on itself, so when you find what a student already knows, teaching them something new is just connecting that new topic to material they already feel confident about! I became a math teacher to help students become the best version of themselves and to find success in life! That is my goal as a tutor as well: to help you find success and to continue to become a better version of yourself!
I am a native French speaker and hold an MBA from the University of Texas at Arlington. I consider myself an International fanatic as I have lived on 3 different continents and in 7 countries in the last 10 years! My passion is to help people get better at achieving their goal. If your goal is to get better and feel more confident in French, I will work with you to make it happen. As a native speaker who learned a second language, I do understand the frustrations that come with learning a new language - especially French because it has many rules. One thing I can guarantee is that you will learn in a fun, effective, and supportive environment!I love reading books and biographies, dancing (I take different classes including African Dance!), and trying out new food. Hi! I'm Lillian Reed, most people call me Lilly. I grew up in Wisconsin and now call Fifty Lakes, Minnesota home. Family means everything to me. As the youngest of four, I'm lucky to be an aunt to three nephews and two nieces. My siblings and I have always been close, especially my sister and me. I'm 25 and working toward my Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education, with plans to graduate by the end of 2026. I'm excited to keep learning and gaining experience so I can make an even bigger difference for kids. Teaching has been my dream since I was little and I've always loved working with children.

Career wise, she has always taken a special interest in education, and her day job is working at a local technical college as an instructor in math and science courses. Her experience with younger students extends to being a Lego League Coach for a team of elementary school students for 5 years, a camp counselor for a STEM education camp for 2 years, and a tutoring many middle school individuals.
I am a graduate of Regent University. I received my master's in special education. I received a Bachelor of Science in elementary education from SMSU. Since graduation, I have been a substitute teacher, taught vocal and instrumental music, taught in preschool, elementary, and middle school classrooms. Most recently I have begun tutoring TESOL and ESL students. I am working on getting certified in both of those areas in SD. I strongly encourage everyone to become a lifelong learner. I am always something new to help me improve my teaching. When I am not teaching, I am caring for my herd of goats, rescue dogs, and helping my husband remodel our home.
